Thread: Friday Feature: Part 2 August 19th Astromech Stats: Profession Popularity

These stats are stupid. The only reason "force healing" is so high is because everyone has 4000. It speaks nothing of mastries except for MLS? What's up with that? What a waste of time! I sure bet there are less MH than MSL
this is prolly based on novice boxes not master boxes with ties being listed alphabetically.

But not all Jedi do.

Look at Force Healer in this list.

And I want to see where "Jedi" stands with the professions combined!
All Jedi must dabble in Healer.
Breathe...breathe. This isn't the end of the world for you. Your underdog status is still ok. Breathe...
Thank you for the listing!
It would have been wonderful to have some numbers against them in order to show magnitude of difference.
Based on what was presented this now appears to be the Jedi vs. Bounty Hunter Game.
Is there a desire to portray Star Wars right about the time after the desturction of the 1st Death Star? That would be a kewl game to play. ![]()

Please...I don't see "Jedi" there at all, I see it split up, diluting the numbers. Not to mention, each Jedi gets a non-Jedi alt. If they added "Jedi" as a whole, it would be higher placed, even much more if they removed the Jedi alts.

Doubt it.
90% of the current Jedi population is going to have at least Novice LS. ANd 95% will have at least novice healer. You just can't do much without those two branches.
I would say *if* you lumped all jedi together, it *might* move up one, maybe 2 spots. Max.

No way in hell can these be just Master Levels. Politicians are in what the Top 10? There aren't that many "Master Politicians" running around. After they made Poli a point free profession everyone and their mom ran out to train in at least Novice Politician for some stupid reason.
I'm inclined to agree, with this. BUT...since Politician is in the top 10 most played, can we have some attention and bug fixes?
What nobody seems to have mentioned is that the Jedi numbers are that high IN SPITE OF the longer, more difficult grind. That's where this whole comparison breaks down.
Get someone with a basic knowledge of statistics to post your statistics for you. A list from low to high broken down in unexplained groups is meaningless. I could make a list like this and post it if you want.
At least change the name from Astromech Stats to Astromech Bleh... This has NOTHING to do with Stats...

Ahh... that can go either way really...
The top 10 proffesions can recieve more content and bug fixes.. but it doesn't help the bottom 10 and they will stay broken forever.

Well Jedi actually isn't a "profession." Force Wielder, Force Defender, Force Enhancer, Force Healer, and Lightsaber are the professions. Looking at the Force Sensitive Skills however it would appear Jedi is the number one profession.
Is this current, active accounts or does it include everyone from the past as well?
Actual percentages would be nice but this is better than nothing I guess.
Also, I notice novice professions are missing. Do the figures take into account only masteries? Or if I dabble in a profession is it counted?Message Edited by SilentSlayer on 08-19-2005 02:00 PM
That's reversed.
Jedi is the profession. Force Wielder, Force Defender, Force Healer, Force Enhancer, Lightsaber are the diciplines. These five skill trees make up the Jedi profession.
b'ah!
*don't like the english expression c'ock-up eh? Sod your filter.
i dont read all 9 pages so far, forgive if i repeat something already said.
The interessting bit here is not, what profession is most played and which not, for me some charts like this show clearly which professions need to be FIXED AND "ATTRACTIFIED" to get more peoples back to play them AGAIN.
Istn it not saying much, that exactly these professions are the end of the list, which suffer under the lack of redesign or nerf/bug swings ?
Pilots are free, right. SOme1 said, they should be not listed as professions.
I think thats why they are listed seperatly, just a charts.
Its also a "faction mirror", since the report stated here "very close numbers"; so it sounds like the pilotsprof. is balanced through the factions.
That groundrebs go spaceimp is more the exception to the rule.
Neutrals are interessting tho. I think there are more spaceneutrals with a groundfaction then spaceneutrals which are neutral on ground too.
Good feature !
Should be a "document of advise" to the devs, which prof needs urgently love !
Jedi and BH:
Wasnt that clear ?
Is this a problem ?
I say no:
If i dont like it, i take out my MRifle/Mdoc and play the game wehre/how i want. Jedi and BH dont hinder me in that.
What i dislike tho is, that if im engaged in PvP, that we have to deal THEN with a huge amount of Jedi.
Jedi should be taken out in a way of disallowing them to INITIATE (start!) combat. They are allowed to defend, but not to initate.
Yes, im fulltemplated and have elite-toons too.
But because i play a Jedi too, this is my honest oppinion to "fax" some things: Disallow Jedi to initiate combat. This way, Jedi can be unnerfed by giving them uberness back (and some to BHs, refelcting only to Jedi).
