Thread: About Friday Features...

I'd love some info on the content of the game beyond the obvious theme parks.

It'd really help players who might have been playing for a while and feel like they're hitting a wall to see what else there is out there to do.

Oh, and some info on the Smuggler revamp would be cosmic, baby

I know you all probably have grown very tired of hearing from me.

I am the one who canstantly writes talking about Visibility.

I leave dozens of feedback reports, and have explained before I CANNOT POST on the official site, for some unknown reason

BUT THIS TIME I HAVE IDEAS AND SUGGESTIONS!!! YAY!!!

Since the road to being a Jedi is hard enough, lighten up just a bit on the visibility.

Give us, perhaps, a grace period, (small-something like 15-20 seconds) before visibility is accrued.

I know the Devs have been working on lag since the beginning, and are still working very hard on it. You should cut us a SMALL break in the meantime! Lag is what makes visibility so hard to avoid.

FOR EXAMPLE: When you are just wailing away on some lair or creature, and *BOOM* on the radar, either a player or an NPC, or even another creature (still distracting because you have to tab-target to it to make sure its not an NPC!). They will appear on Map/Radar/Screen all at about the same time, and they are already WELL within Visbility range. Cut us some slack in this respect.

When a player, NPC, or anything appears onscreen, it should start a timer (With a little bit of programming, you could make it spam on the screen something like "You must unequip you saber to avoid possibility of gaining visibility" --after all, we ARE Jedi, and should have a six-sense about these things)

This would place a distinct difference between the players that go out of their way to avoid visibility ~~~~(They could have stored their saber, and had it say, perhaps, something like "You have not gained any visibility at this time" if you store within the set timer (remember, say 15-20 seconds)~~~~ anyways, it would distinguish those of us that try to avoid visibility, with those that dont care, running around using the force at all chances in places like cantinas and starports (they, if keepin their saber out beyond the 'set timer' would be spammed with a message regarding the seriousness of their visibility....for example "You have just gained visibility, it is likely you might appear on the Bounty Hunter Terminals") etc etc...

And us as Jedi should be able to know our own visibility status.

For Example...perhaps a command like /showVisibility and get approximate measures on how high our visibility is at any given time, and the likeliness of being hunted by Bounty Hunters.

For example: One who has gone to painstaking ends to avoid visibility might recieve a message like "Your visibility status is low. The likelihood of you being on the Terminals is very slim"

One who flaunts their skills in public may encounter one such as "You are well known across the Galaxy as a Jedi, the likelihood of you being on the terminals is very great! Be Careful!" ~~~~about this six-sense we have also, we should recieve spam when a bounty hunter attack is coming. A warning when the BH with your mission is within 2500m - you get perhaps a "You sense a {varying amount} of Danger!"

Also, when we kill a NPC that gave us visibility, any visibility we gained by them should be NEGATED!!!The only possible exception would be Rebel (or Imperial) troopers (They have radios-hehe)

Etc Etc

Let us use Anti decay kits on crystals, pearls, the HERO OF TAT ring!!!
The anti-decay kit does nothing for us Jedi...can't use it on sabers-they dont decay. All our items are auto insured (Robe-etc)
All the anti decay kits mean to us is that the BHs that are chasing us can anti decay their uber double sliced-Krayt Enhancer-10 Million Dollar, best on the server weapons they use to hunt us down with :^/

And please get rid of the death penalty.

Losing xp to a BH that has your mission is cool.

Being able to go to NEGATIVE AMOUNTS SUCKS!!!

It shouldnt go below 0

If you are working on a tier 4 or master (1.6 million-3.2 million xp) or even a tier 3 (800k xp) being negative xp is SOOO NOT COOL!!!!

And Last but not least...Hunting with friends should NOT give visibility!!!

I submit feedback here through Launchpad, and I never recieve a reply, or any type of acknowledgement that the feedback is even heard.

I am having major difficulties dealing with being a Jedi.

I have many things to say about the Jedi Profession.

You need to do something about the situation, as it is completely against anyone's favor (except perhaps your own-drawing on endless subscription fees...)

First and foremost, the main issue is visibility.

I can understand it, and actually see its need, but it is way beyond what it should be.

The first thing that makes me the very most upset...is dealing with in-game latency issues.

Now, I have a 2.2 GhZ Pentium 4, over a Gig of Ram, 256 Mb Video card...in game, all of my settings are set to a minimum! Terrain detail, No radial flora, etc etc. And still it is impossible to escape the Lag. Im not even enjoying the game to its full potential because of this, and I still have to deal with Latency.

This Latency is a MAJOR issue. Players and NPC's alike don't appear on radar or screen until they are already well within visibility range. How are you supposed to avoid it then???

The first BH that killed me had me slain before he even appeared on my radar. Is that fair???

The next most important issue I need to declare...is the nature of the visibility.

First off, Players (of opposite faction) I can understand. But how can, for instance, the tribes on Dantooine, the Ewoks, Nightsisters, Singing Mountain Clan, Marauders, etc, spread word of your visibility??? Who are they gonna tell??? And...what if you are to kill them? Then who are they supposed to tell?
I am Imperial (tho I NEVER PvP-I'm only Imp to avoid the crackdown searches). But as an Imperial, I can understand REBEL NPC's generating visibility (although-again, this should be negated if they are killed!)... but as an Imp, why should Imperial NPC's increase visibility??? Especially when they spawn all over now due to the increased crackdown??? And, as I am Imp, I can't even kill them to avoid the visibility!

Group hunting is a thing of the past, as friends that I used to regularly hunt with (Imp as well) also increase visibility?!?

So visibility is a main issue, and needs to be adjusted, I believe.

Next...

Bounty Hunters.

I rather like the idea of visibility increasing your chance of ending up on the terminals, and that BH's can hunt you down. I agree that there should be a loss of XP upon getting slain by a BH-but NOT to the point where you are negative XP?!?!!!

The Death Penalty needs to be gotten rid of. I can understand if a BH kills you, but when you die from a creature lair, or in some rare cases, get killed because Connection Loss in the middle of an aggro session (which I did submit a ticket-and got the usual "We can't help you, sorry :^P").

I can deal with losing XP (if fair!) but to go to extreme NEGATIVE amounts???? WT*F?!? It's hard enough Jedi make such LOW amounts of XP, and require such astronomical amounts for skills!!! To do this AND avoid visibility??? Especially with Latency Problems, this is too overwhelming!

And as far as visibility is concerned...there should be a way for a Jedi to know where they stand visibility wise. Some of us don't have the priviledge of having BH friends to let you know if you are even on the terms.

Let me tell you where I stand right now, in the Game...Due to ALL of the aforementioned, No matter how cautious I am, I am all over the BH Terminals. I have only two choices. One: to stay logged on, yet AFK, in my house, for 3 weeks (glad to be paying a subscription fee for that!) while the BH's keep coming to my door, sending me tells along the lines of "Why don't you grow a set of Balls and come out here and fight!" (Yes, ive gotten this, plus many more). Or Two: Leave my house and go to -372k xp just like that, as I know I would, as over 6 BH's have come to my house in just the last 24 hours I have been logged on. (That of course, includes the Death Penalty, though, even if I were Revived, Id still be Negative XP)!

But, I keep being reminded by the CSR's that "the visibility system is working as intended" (Even though its so jacked up!) and "Be patient", like you're actually gonna solve this within the next three weeks that I'm AFK in my house!

At the moment, I can't think of anything further to say.

But please. I am growing VERY tired of all the "Sorry we can't help you"'s and the no responses from submitting feedback. I have also tried to post this on the forums, as another 'helpful' CSR suggested, only to find that, although the site recognizes my Username and Password, It still will not let me post without reconfirming me email address (which I have already done before)--Saying it will temporarily disable my account, as well as provide me with a new password. So, I can't post it!!!

If I am talking to the wrong people, please direct me to someone who will actually acknowledge this feedback, please direct me to someone who truly cares.

As I have stated before, I am a long term Vet. My Character has been in existance since Launch! Does that make any difference, or do you only care if you get your subscription fees from newbies or anyone? What about those of us who have made this game a part of their lives???

Tell me who I am supposed to be telling this stuff to, as apparently, all I have contacted resulted in NOTHING!!!

I would love to see the Astromech reports redone.
But, most of the reports were kinda...short. I would prefer either an update of one of the longer ones (economy) or an update on a collection of the smaller ones.

Actually, what I would REALLY like is:
1. Another look at the world maps you guys made... Showing the locations of all houses & such. Maybe add a color for cities, or add a color for all npc/critters (Not spawn points, just actual NPC/critters that are in-country....)
