Quite frankly I think he said we would be getting details this week. To me details encompass more than just art work. But now I read that there is a delay and we must wait another week for an announcment on that. And now that we are only 34 days from end of 1st quarter 2005 and still no announcement on Alpha Testing. I am starting to lose faith in the words of this New Developement team ("Alpha Testing will begin after the hollidays.") the way I lost it for the last one. Dont get me wrong I really like the GCW changes and the TEF removal but the GCW was supposed to be done after the CURB not before. I dont concider myselft to be a negative person in fact I put a very positive and hopeful post in the Lowca forums this week; in anticipation of this weeks Friday Feature. But when I see TH make a statement like "The information will be released as it is available." I think to myself "common these guys have been working on this combat upgrade for at least a year now and the only info they have is slowly trickling out artwork?" I guess I just feel like a kid on x-mas that didnt get the big red bike I had asked for. But at least I got a picture of it

Ummm... I seem to remember the TEF and GCW changes that were just rolled out being referred to as a quick and "easy" change to the GCW to make it more exiting, implying that the GCW Update is still to come point in the rather nebulous future. I'll see if I can dig up a source for my recollections....

Nice weapons in all, i have to say. Will be nice to see some more variety in the game

But i'm confused as to why the devs have modelled a G36 rifle and added it into the game. It looks so cheesy that i spotted it instantly, and its not even kinetic. Law suits ftw?

I guess that did sound kinda bad It's just the dev's have been pushing hard, and this game has so much more potential than any other game on the market, maybe 10 fold. I've tried the others and I always come back to this

I suppose the devs were working alongside the fact that in the Original Trilogy, many weapons were converted from surplus WW2 guns. Han's blaster was a Broomhandle Mauser, the E11 rifle is a Sten submachinegun, the rifle used by Rebel troops on Hoth and Endor is a German StG44,the T21 is converted from a WW1 machinegun etc etc. IMHO its a great move to make SW weapons out of modified real-world weapons, especially the already futuristic-looking G36. It's a nice homage to the guys from the workshops who came up with the weapons from the films
