Delete your character with said skills & start over with a new one...

And, before the flames start rolling in as to how crappy a guide this is... this IS the only current way to delete them. The system is either bugged or has been changed without SOE adequately informing us about it. So, as it stands right now, my guide is 100% accurate.

That would be a guide on how to "trade" FS skills, not drop them. Damn you, I had a flash of hope there for a second.

Wrong! Amazingly enough they did inform us of this. It was posted in the little update notes in the download box thingy. Use to be only jedi could not give up these skills, now no one can. /applaud devs for the rare communication.

I saw that too, but burying it 100 lines or so down under a "misc." heading is not what I would call "adequately informing us" of the change. It is vague at best talking about titles & such, & does not clearly say that we will no longer be able to drop FS skills as was originally planned. But you are correct that that is the only official piece of info we have seen stating anything remotely that we can't drop them. It was "rare" indeed, hehe.

So deleting your character won't adversely affect the second character you unlocked in any way?

They won't tell us THAT either. I wouldn't delete your first char unless you made your second char glowey & a Jedi also, so that the second char meets all the qualifications of opening the second slot again after the main is gone. Even then I would be hesitant to delete your main, because we don't really know how it might be bugged or whatever. What we need is straight answers from the devs for a change.

I don't believe this is necessarily true... it would depend on what you have done with the secnd char before deleting the main. Lets say you open the second slot & make that second char glowey & then get him past the padawan level. Then if you delete the main & go down to one slot again, your second char (that is now your main) still has met all the qualifications to open the second slot again. Of course this is just a guess based on common sense... which we all know SOE posseses very little of.

On the contrary... Thunderheart himself has told us, "Do not delete your jedi."

So basically, if you want that second character slot you have two choices:

  1. Make your main into a jedi.

  2. Ruin your main by training skills that you don't want, don't need and can't untrain.

The extra slot is linked to your Jedi. If you delete your Jedi, while you will be able to create another character in its place, if you delete the second character that is in the unlocked slot, you will not be able to remake them. This is just like the old Jedi slot, as in if you deleted the character you unlocked the slot with, and then the Jedi, you just lost your Jedi slot.

I heard if you delete your first character, the second also goes away. I wouldnt chance it at all, especially since this will be fixed soon (hopefully) and waiting won't be nearly as bad as starting from scratch.

Yes, there's no telling how this could go. Unfortunately the devs are being extremely tight lipped about it, which is a total disgrace since publish 10 is already live.

For those of you concidering deleting your mains, this post was meant to be sarcastic. It's meant to point out how we were supposed to be able to drop the FS skills & revert back to a non-FS template, but now it's not working & the devs won't say a damn word about it. Maybe it's a bug, or maybe they just lied to us to keep us from quitting 6 months ago...
