you need 5 content badges, 1 profession and 10 pois to get the old man.
you got him now because of your old professions that you mastered.
they are going through and getting all the holo grinders first and then hitting the rest of us.

Before you feel too sorry for the holo grinders, know that they can use that holo grinding to unlock free FS branches and get the xp to train those right away. So while you'll be grinding to trade in your xp (at an exuberant rate)... mine would have already be done.

That librarian badge is part of the normal badges you needed. You could have gotten any other POI badge and it would have done the same thing.

Update on me. I got visited today by the Old Man. Actually saw him twice, wouldn't talk much to me the second time 
I have all 45 POI
5 Profs mastered, 0 holos cuz I didn't get my first holo till after pub9

I was glowing as soon as Pub10 went live.

Incorrect, I have seen posts where non-hologrinders have been visited. SUCKERS!

Ill admit I dont understand all the rules, but when publish 10 went live on tuesday I just had a surge......I didnt get "glowing" until I finished the Warren and the Librarian.

I was glowing with the force when publish 10 went live, and I was visited yesterday evening my time (I'm on GMT, so I'd say it was around 2PM EST). However due to planetary lagging in the galaxy I was on I was unable to get a waypoint from the sith thugs that spawned this morning on me when I visited the area where I met the old man (My house 
). So hopefully I will be able to continue when the servers come back up because Questing is fun

I did prepare to be glowly when publish 10 came out though, and as such I had all the badges I needed and then some
not even a knight anymore

Did they master professions that were on their holo list though? or no professions mastered

You can take my exsample as an exsample I was not a hologrinder and I doubt the five professions I mastered (Brawler, Fencer, Swordsman, Scout and Ranger) Were all five on my secret hololist.

heh non hologrinder here and im glowing baby.. i feel sorry for the peeps that did grind and didnt finish.. poor bastages.
