I'd love to go play on a Japanese server. I hated FFXI but I did enjoy the diverse community of Japanese and N American players.

I PMd Garva with these questions and he hasn't gotten back, so I figured I'd post them here.
The Japanese servers go live on the 23rd. Can you confirm the following?
*We will be able to connect to their servers, and they ours. Yes
*Willeverything be displayed in Japanese Kakatana/Kanji by default? Yes, but you can change an option to display English. Of course, that will not translate player spoken Japanese... only for game text/npc chats.

SOJS? Please elaborate.
So they're trying to fix the problem that won't let US copies connect to the Japanese servers. Might be a couple of hours, might be a couple of weeks. We'll see.

Concerning the problem which cannot access the JP galaxy the English edition prayer:
In regard to the customer who is played in English edition, complete Japanese edition same as the customer of utilization, from beginning in order for you to be able to access the JP galaxy, we had planned. But, problem with the English edition client is verified, presently accessing the JP galaxy does not do.
Already we have begun investigation in order to solve this obstacle, but at present time there is no certain information regarding solution schedule day and time. With diagnosing the US development team, as for completion of job being quick, when the possibility of being next year is large, it is thing. Additional information does to enter concerning this case, is to be at this sight we inform.
We apologize the fact that it does to apply inconvenience to the customer who is played in English edition deeply. Furthermore as for the prayer of complete Japanese edition we verify that you can access the US galaxy without problem.
