I PMd Garva with these questions and he hasn't gotten back, so I figured I'd post them here.

The Japanese servers go live on the 23rd. Can you confirm the following?

*We will be able to connect to their servers, and they ours.

*Willeverything be displayed in Japanese Kakatana/Kanji by default?

I'm thinking of going over to one of their servers with my friends. I realize that items sold by people who use Japanese keyboards will no doubt have their stats displayed in Japanese, so we might make a self-sustaining guild to make the transition easier. The communication barrier won't be too bad, since most Japanese who play this game will speak at least some English. (They have to study it for 3-7 years, depending on school district.) But I'm really wondering if all NPC text will be displayed in Japanese as well. If so, we will be able to set it to English?

Any additional input would be great. Please don't delete this unless you PM me with the answers. I'm certainly not the only one who wants to go over there, regardless of initial difficulties. These are thenewly startedservers that so many of us have been looking for.

So they're trying to fix the problem that won't let US copies connect to the Japanese servers. Might be a couple of hours, might be a couple of weeks. We'll see.

Any update on when the Japanese servers are going up and live? I can't see them on the login server (create new character part).

Here is the SWG Japan news archive, translated. I'm checking it daily (as well as the main page) and they have not announced that the English copy-to-JP server problem is fixed yet. You'll need to be able to understand Engrish (very poor English) if you plan on keeping updated on this.

Here's a helpful tip for viewing Japanese pages, by the way. Anytime you want one translated, paste http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ja&u= in front of the url.

This may save me from quiting, im a japanese nutjust look at my form name lol, hate pokemon though...(ps, please dont laugh))

And by being in a japanese server, if the people are gracious enough of my ignorance of their language(i know very little:/) I may be able to learn some things.
