Wookie Life Day is in Live as of tomorrow! Last year i did not participate in it as I did not know about it. But this year I'm going to make up for that loss :-) So I dug around and found this guide for people wanting to do it:

There wasn't much to miss last year. Orbs were deposited in houses for people to hand out as gifts, but unfortunately,a lot of people were selling them instead. If you weren't in a city or a guild, you likely didn't get one. Life Day robes were available on a limited basis as well.
I'm looking forward to this year though. I think the Dev's came up with a good idea from what I have read about it.

Yeah, there is a little quest, if you can call it that, in which you can learn more about Wookiee Life Day and receive a gift. You don't have to have any combat abilities from what I understand.

This year there is a "quest" and a chance to get one of 3 new paintings, that is if you don't get stuck with another Life Day orb. 
The way the quest works is you talk to a Life Day Wookiee to start your quest,(There are 3, one in Anchorhead, Lake Retreat, and Vreni Island) who will then send you to one of 3 locations. No matter what location they send you too you can go to whatever one you prefer, and one is closer to a shuttle than others so I am sure it will get nice and crowded.
Endor -1090, -1000 (2600m from Smuggler Outpost)
Dath -2579, -5520 (4700m from Science Outpost)
Yavin -5 -3966 (4700m from Imperial Outpost)

Currently NO Wookiee at Lake Retreat, in AH or Vreni Island.

Ah, thanks for confirming that. I just made a loop around AH (on FarStar) and stared every player and NPC hard in their eyes, tugging their hair and face, arms and clothes... trying to find the hidden, dressed-up wookiee. No luck, of course. Maybe that R2 droid... *runs off to check*

I just scoured every nook and cranny of the lake retreat. I think I woulda seen a huge red wookiee if there was one.
