I would suggest jedi's do this together, this isnt easy. (Best combo is any template with Mdef/Msabers and someone that can recharge your force)
Myydrill Caves
1. Once you reach the Myydrill caves, you must select the 10th instance, But I think they are all the same, so it might not really matter.
2. Once inside the cave you must head towards the Myydrill village, there, there is a path that takes you to a bridge, which leads you to the entrance of the Myydrill brain bugs as I call them
3. Fight your way through the bugs and travel the path that leads you to a super long wooden bridge that splits up.
4. Once you reach that bridge take the RIGHT path, the left path will take you to the bug brain queen (part of another quest).
5. As you taken the right path, you get half way there and it splits up again, take another right and the path leads you straight to the Grievous quest. NOTE: you still got a long way of travel
6. Keep going until you reach a room filled with red and blue crystals all over and what looks like a old dried up river, this place is called LORNS SHOP, remember this place as you will need to track your way back to it later.
7. keep going past LORNS SHOP, there you enter a giant room filled with lost souls and Nesforotous, fun to kill. go past that room and keep going.
8. As you travel you will end up to a room with a battle droid in it, he is the quest giver.
9. The battle droid asks you to get a radiant crystal from LORNS SHOP, this is where you back track, once you get teh crystal return to the droid.
WARNING: Do not talk to the battle droid untill everyone is 100% ready
10. Once you are back, someone talk to the battle droid, he asks you to give the crystal to the master, thats where you and your group gets teleported to the grievous room.
11. Once you get done teleported you are given 30 minutes to defeat Necrosis (grievous)
12. quickly you talk to the scientist there and give him the crystal, after some insane laughter the scientist summons Necrosis and tells him to slaughter your and your group.
13. A level 92 Necrosis and 2 level 84 Bodygaurds, the hardest battle out of the new game, hence why Necrosis is the new uber loot droper.
14. Here is the battle strat for this, have the Msaber/Mdef jedi aggro them all and activate a avoid incap macro, that uses avoid incap constantly. Have the jedi use dervish and fight near the recharger.
NOTE: Rechargers must be destroyed first if you are to even scratch grievous
15. While that jedi does his thing, have another jedi stay out of aggro and feeds force into the other jedi as he pummels Necrosis.
16. Once the jedi is dead loot grievous you get...
REWARD: Grievous Ship deed(drops 100% of time), and other cool loot such as cybernetic limbs, uber weapons, such like a modded VK, and etc.)

AI is such an inefficent use of force for Grevous. If you use Force Aura, Pikatta Pie, and Infusion, you take very little damage. A buddy and I are both Master Defender hybrids and we've killed Grevous multiple times (just the two of us) in about 7 minutes each time w/ about a third of our force left.
Hope this helps, PM me w/ other questions if you have them.
I wondered if that was the case but...with all the same stuff hehad me down as a MDEF in 3 hits, I really wouldn't recommend tanking him without A-I, your only going to drain your force faster than A-I would.

Don't Forget AI doesn't work 100% of the time, so if you get a fail in one of those, your goose is cooked, but really I don't worry about dying by grievous because you DO NOT lose any xp when you clone in that cave.

I'd suggest 3 or 4 people, 2 or more of which jedi.
At the beginning have someone that has a taunt pull grevious away from the guards, then dispatch the guards, even at level 87 there not too difficult to destroy baring a MDEF is tanking them.
After thats done, destroy any power crystals lieing around. Finally, start pounding him. He goes down real quick with 4 people hitting him.

Did you have a +60 melee defense from clothes? I had 295 melee defense before food, and after clothes. You will get 3 hit if you aren't on Aura, but if you are, it seems you take about a fifth of the damage you would normally take.

A tactic i use is to have the rest of the group stay down at the bottom of the ramp where you load in, and i use force cloak and head up and speak to the npc, when Necrosis and the 2 NK-3's appear, the first thing Necrosis does is activate the two others. I stand close to the 2 stationary droids, and when they are activated i head down towards the group with them following me. As Necrosis is still running around charging whatever he charges, he doesnt follow so the group can take down the lvl 87s before starting on him.
