After Doing this mission several times, i have noticed a few things about the mission that should help anyone in need defeat it. Here is what you need to defeat Lord Cyssc (this ofcourse is not an exact formula, but i find it helps).
1 Dragger: the dragger is a ship that can go atleast 1000 speed. His purpose will be explained later.
1 Fighter Killer: the sole purpose of this ship is to take out fighters, though i know that most bulkier and heavier ships can probably due this job.
A lot of heavy firepower ship: By Firepower ships i DO NOT mean missiles and bombs. I mean ships that can have multiple level 8 or above guns.
Now lets talk strategy. First thing is that the mission holder must stay alive at all cost (duh), and CAN NOT be the Dragger. The way i found the agro to work is that EVERY ship will originally go after the first player to shoot at any of them and will not pull off of that target unless they are hit by something else. This is the major key to beating the mission. take advantage of it.
The First step is to have the dragger hit any of the big ships and make a U turn. I cant remember the exact speed of the bigger ships, but it would be safe to go 1100 and keep flying straight. Its important not to fly too fast or the ships will lose agro (also, never use IFF or the ships will lose agro on dragger). And know where the edge of the sector is. I did a mission where the dragger went afk from boredom and came back dead cause he hit the edge and we had to wing it.
Once all the ships are following dragger its important that the group watch where they fire and where their shots will land. The first thing is to take out the Fighter escort because they are fast enough to catch up to and kill the dragger. Again, watch where you shots land cause you could agro the big ships. Once the group has pulled and killedthe fighters away, chose ONE gunship to target as a group and have someone agro it and pull it to the group (the rest of the ships will still be following the dragger if you did not accidently hit them).
Big Ships in this mission are very fast and agile, so there is no "riding the blindspot" for those that usually do. Since the whole group is targeting the one ship, have them all attack engines. I have found that jousting is a great way to take out these fast gunships. Come in 3/4 speed, guns blazing, then leave just as fast or with boosters. With the whole group attacking it, some maybe able to slow their strafe runs to do more damage cause the gunship's turrets will be attacking someone else. Once Engines are down just sit at its blindspot and blast away.
Rinse and repeat with the other big ships. The dragger role can get boring, but once you are down to two big ships, you can turn around and help out if you feel your group can handle it. And if one of the big ships loses agro on dragger, just have the dragger only fire on it and continue dragging. And with that strategy the Lord Cyssc Mission is no problem. I hope this helps.

You solo'd it??? Please, tell us how!
not wishing to hijack brutus-tod's fine post butI will briefly outline what I did.
once I engaged the fleet I kept my speed up in the 1300's and focused on the fighters taking out the belbs then the arc's
main tactic was keeping my speed up at all times ( if any of the fleet got a fix on me I would change direction but at this speed they have trouble tracking you) I used C2SS4 if I took hits also had chaff for any incoming missiles.
once the fighters were taken out I focused on cyssc's flagship using the same high speed sharp turns I disabled Cyssc then left him dead in the water then pulled the fleet out of range of Cyssc's disabled heavycruiser and targeted the next crusier and repeated the same tactic until all crusiers and GB's were disabled (by this point Cyssc had blown up)
by this point was just a case of sitting at distance from the GB's and blowing them up
took 13mins from start to finish
Hope that helps Kalidon_sonchaser and again appologies to Brutus for hijacking your fine guide

I think anyone can kill him. Every other space mission anyone can kill the mission target.

Does anyone know if the person with the mission has to be the one to kill Cyssc, or do they have to get in at least one shot, or can they just spawn the misson and stay out of range the whole time while their friends take them out?

I had this mission but wasnt ready to do it - launched into kash system and it began. Of course I failed it but now how do I get the mission again - do I need to re-do the blackscale portion??
