Many of you many be having problems even getting into the depths on the Bio-Lab. This thread can help you, and if you're a rifleman, you can now solo the Acklay without it even attacking you and hitting you for damage, or any of the Kwi's or Kliknik's along the way to it's Lair.

First some tips about the Bio-Lab. It's a pretty evil place, due, mainly to game bugs. Like the Crazy Geonosian's at the enterance, the Kwi in the first downward hallway that hit you for damage that your armor does not absorb. If you can live with and strive to over-come these bugs, well, you can easily get down to the Acklay in 10 minutes tops, if he's there, and take him out without him even hitting you. I've done this several times after server restarts when nobody is even in the Bio-Lab.

No exploits are used in this method, just careful observations of the Bio-Lab monsters and using two rifle skills, Take Cover and Conceal Shot.

About the Bio-Lab Monsters, the Kwi's and Kliknik's simply do not like each other. It seems they enjoy to attack each other and ignore you. The most important tip I can give you about the Bio-Lab is to be VERY CAREFUL about what monsters you attack or wind up auto-targeting.

If you'reone goal is to solo the Acklay, as you are going down there, ONLY target Crazed Geonosians in the beginning of the Lab or Cavern Spiders once you get into the Merc room. I have found that you can run past just about any mob of Kliknik's, Kwi's and most Droideka's if you're shooting at Geonosians or Spiders.

To get the Acklay, you need the codes, if you don't have them, get them. If you don't know how to get into the merc room, learn.

Once you get into the Merc room, the Acklay is as good as dead. Once you're ready to use the passkey into the Merc room, there should be a Cavern Spider you can target and have chase you into the Merc room and down the incline. You'll head down the ramp past the Kwi, he should ignore you, and if he does chase, there are Cavern Spiders the entire run all the way to the Acklay Lair.

All you do is keep targeting and shooting Spiders. The Kwi's and Kiliknik's will all start fighting each other, if you should auto-target a Kwi or Kliknik, get back on a spider and always keep running straight for the lair. Don't ever stop, just target anotherCavern Spider and keep running for the lair. Once you get into the Merc room and know the codes, you can get to the Acklay in about a minute.

In the "big boulder room", there are plenty of spiders to shoot at. Target one, shoot at it for a few seconds, then target another. The key is to get the spiders chasing you and the Kwi's and Kliknik's to aggro each other. I've solo'd the Acklay over a dozen times now, I know this works.

The one rough part can be the last door that needs a code. Good thing to know the code ahead of time. Blast the debris and hopefully you were shooting only at spiders, you should have 5 or 6 of them on you by the time you hit the last code. Go into the little room before the Acklay lair, take out the spiders. If Acklay isn't in his lair, all the better. Run all the way into his lair, target the spider IN THE LAIR as you follow the right wall of the cave where it is recessed quite a bit and stand there, finish off the spiders that are all chasing you.

If any Kwi's or Kliknik's are on you, just run back and forth between them, they will eventually attack each other as long as you keep targeting Spiders. Once you have no Kwi's or Kliknik's on you, and if you target spiders from the get-go when you enter the large cavern area just before the "big boulder" you really shouldn't have any Kwi's or Kliknik's chasing you. The Kwi's and Kliknik's down here can hit you for big damage that ignores your armor, this why it is so key to target and shoot at only spiders as you dash for Acklay's lair.

Ok, you've gotten past the final door and killed the spiders that chased you. Good, good. There is usually one Kwi in this room, if you only attacked spiders, he'll leave you alone. Once the spiders are dead, if Acklay is there, Take Cover and eat your Focus food, drink your Brandy and pop a Muon. I found it best to hot-key 3 or 4 T21's with damage slices with 16 min 33 max powerups. With your focus and willpower so jacked up, Conceal Shot is slow enough that your mind pool won't move. Once a T21 uses a PU, just switch to the next powered-up T21 in your hotkeys. I've found it can take 2 to just over 3 T21's to kill the Acklay while it stands still. It's really an amazing accomplishment to do this and experience it.

If you make it into the Acklay Lair, same deal as shooting from the doorway. There is a large bone right next to where a Kliknik spawns, if Acklay wasn't in lair, you should be here, have killed your spiders and once you can Take Cover, do it. If you're TKA/Rifleman, you can Meditate off Wounds and Powerboost at will. As long as you targeted only Spiders, for some reason, the Kwi's are Kliknik's are not upset at your presense in the Acklay Lair.

I found either spot, the right side of the Acklay Cave Lair or the doorway leading into the Lair to be excellent spots to Take Cover and get clear shots at the Acklay with Conceal Shot. When the Acklay is hit with Conceal Shot, he will not move nor will the other monsters in the Lair attack you or the Acklay. Sounds amazing? I've done it a dozen times now, it works.

The Acklay does spawn once every two hours, restarting when it is killed, not when it spawns. If a big group should enter the Acklay Lair while you're there, sit back and watch the fun. Chances are they'll all attack it and if they're not skilled, you'll still have an opperunity to take it out. It is very entertaining to watch the Acklay at work on parties who try to murder the thing.

Good luck, and please do let me know if this works for you.

Feign death is also very effective in the geo cave...

Thanks, I should add, the same Spider attacking method can be used to escape the Acklay Lair after Acklay is killed and hopefully looted to your satisfaction. Bones, sweet sweet Bones with good stats, yes!

As you're running back to the surface, only target Cavern Spiders. Once you hit the Merc room, they won't be happy but you should be able to run past anything else, remember, there is a Cavern Spider just down a left hallway as you make the right out of the Merc Room, and hall butttowards the surface and, most likely, bring along a bunch of your new Bio-Lab "friends" for the enterance campers and WOOKIES to play with!

This is a weak tactic that requires only the skill to obtain the xp to get it. I should expect nothing less of a comment such as this from a no-good smuggler. If you ever go overt, I hope a CM finds you when you've feigned death!

You could've just replaced all that text with *Request for a Nerf*

Ironicly you'll probably be leading the "unnerf my cover and concealshot" crowd when the nerf bat swings your way.

All these cheap tactic guides are great, they'reperfect guidelines for the devs nerftrain coming to a skill near you.

In case you didn't realize, that place is not supposed to be solo'd.

P.S. a /kiss in advance to the * pirate.

Addme to the list of no-good smugglers, and proud of it.I often make it to Acklay and kill him solo thanks to my handy dandy feign death.

You sure this is not the max aggro tactic.....sounds like it to me. It's the same tactic everyone used on the vette to get the SBD's to fight the npc's.....and you know what happened to the vette....about 100 more SBD's in every room......devs might not nerf rifleman, but they sure will increased the spawns in the geo cave.....hehe, it would be funny if they decide to put SBD's in acklays cavern at the entrance.

Anyway, the max aggro trick is that the game only allows a maximum amount of creatures to attack you at once....when the limit is reached, all other mobs will ignore you until you kill off one of the ones that's arggo'd on you....then a new creature will join in the fight....fortunately, there are some places like the geo cave and the vette where the mobs are not only aggressive to you but the other mobs in the poi as well....so that just aids in the max aggro tactic......you can literally solo the vette in 10 minutes with this trick and never have a SBD attack you.

oh and by the way, you can just drag pups from your inventory or toolbar to power up your rifle when it runs out.....no need to carry more rifles...the time it takes to switch the rifles is longer than draging the power up to the weapon during combat....it only takes a second....whereas swithcing weapons can sometimes take 3 or 4 seconds.

And FD is a perfectly viable way to do anything....it's there for you to use....if you have it, use it....I solo'd acklay without even using FD as a swordsman and a pikeman.....then when I did have it, it just made things easier that's all. Nothing wrong with using it.

Posts like this expose the current AI's weaknesses. The cave is meant to be a challenge. All the MOBs should aggro equally against players. I have no problem with people using their specials, cover, conceal, FD. But these specials should only help them overcome the challenge. Not work around it altogether.

I love going to the Geo Caves alone. I don't use the max aggro exploit either. I got some really nice 39% stun armor with a great eff slice to cap it at 90% on all the bases. Then I just use my PH (made with Ackley bones) to do area attacks on my way down to kill Ackley with hit3 while keeping it intimidated, killing everything on my way down. I have done it so many times that I have memorized the codes so there is no need to follow the quest all the way thru. My best time is 15 minutes from the top of the cave to kill Ackley and back up.

They fixed the cave from being camped by removing the constent spawn in the area, making it easier to solo using normal methods.

I feel that the original post uses an exploit and should not be used.

My template = Master Brawler - Master Swordsman - Master Pikeman - Fencer 2440 - FS Melee Speed 4 + BE Clothes for Intimidate/Warcry.
