Thread: Way to get Creds when you're down and out

I have been in game a lot recently, and am noticing more and more people spamming begging for change. I personally have a problem with this, as there are many ways to get cash quickly in game without begging.

Combat Noobs:

- Get a combat profession, even if you would like to be an entertainer/artisan. Go out and build up yourskillsagainst low level animals outside of Tatooine, or whichever planet you log in at.

- At level 2, you will be able to kill (with some struggles) low level NPC spawns outside of Coronet (thugs mostly).

- At level 3, you will be able to kill (with less of a struggle) low level NPC spawns outside of Coronet (again, thugs).

- At level 4 of the chosen combat profession, get yourself a weapon that you are certified for (Ctrl+S will tell you this and a weapon that you can afford - most bazaars have them for fairly cheap, either because they were looted or made by an aspiring artisan).

- Once weapon is acquired, go outside of a major city (Coronet, Theed, Moenia, Mos Eisley) and kill low level NPC spawns. They drop credits and loot which can be kept or sold for more credits. However, you need to LOOT every NPC for them to respawn.

ArtisanNoobs:

- Get yourself some Artisan (delivery) missions, terminals are outside of any major starport. If you have no mount or bike, simply RUN to the mission, complete it and get paid. Do this until you have acquired desired amount of credits.

Beggars:

- Go outside major cities (Coronet, Theed, Moenia, Mos Eisley) and kill low level NPC spawns and LOOT them to make them respawn. Even without buffs, or armor you can make minimum of 20K in less than an hour, do this until you reach your desired credit balance. (I have done this hundreds of times when we've been extremely low on cash, and was able to pay for all of my branches of Tailoring through this method)

- JTLers get some missions in space, from what I've seen you can make 20K minimum per mission.

THIS IS NOT A HATE LETTER, SIMPLY A WAY TO GET THE BEGGARS/NOOBS MORE SELF RELIANT!

JTL has definitely made it 100 times easier to make money.. in a 45 minute run at certain points in Tatoo System, I can fill up my inventory with junk, and sell them to a dealer and make 150k credits (including credit chips)

Good post, good point.

Funny thing though, when i started my char at launch, i was given 250credits. When you start a char today, you have 1000 credits in cash and 75000 in the bank! Now, why would any newcomer beg for money with that kind of start cash, well i just wonder... /doh !

I think its a common misunderstanding that beggars got no money.

Begging is not about needing money but getting it the easy way.

One more way to earn money: observe the forums for crafters asking for certain creature ressources. If a good ressource spawns, get yourself scout skills and go hunting. there should be creatures on most planets that you can kill with hardly any fighting skills.

You can even make a contract with the crafter and serve them on a regular basis.

I asked a begger once why didn't he do some missions to get some money. His answer was he didn't have time. Seems he had lots of time to beg though.

And what is up with that smell?

Yeah, I was stressing over money too when they changed the missions-groups thing until I figured out I'd had a good way to make $$ all along! Space combat is the easiest (and most fun) way to make money. In a good hour I can rake in 200k worth of mission money and loot....loot being the biggest factor here. And don't even waste your time with selling it with vendors or in auctions. I just fill up my backpack, land and check if I want any of the stuff for myself, then I go and sale the rest of it to the chassis vendor. At 1-10K a pop, it adds up very quickly. Even noob pilots can do this...as long as they aren't trying this against tiers of enemies which they cannot handle. You guys with good pilot skill...try doing this an entire gaming session instead of your usual grind and you will find that it adds up to a nice amount at the end of the day.

The Darkside of the Force is neither Evil nor Good, it is simply an aspect of the Force, just as the Light side is neither Good nor Evil. The Darkside is an offensive and powerful side of the Force, where the Light is defensive and mundane. One is reached through emotion, the other through the absence of emotion. Hatred, Love, and Passion are the most powerful of emotions. Embrace them and you will be able to draw upon the true power of the Force.

well, JTL is probably the best way now days....but if you don't have JTL then there is another quick easy way and you don't have to depend on other players to buy from you or anything.

Theres a very good artisan run you can make that can get you lots of money very quickly...been there since launch. I 've run it many times myself.

Starting in moenia, take artisan crafting missions for 1350 - 1400....get 2 missions....they always send you to deeja peak where you can get 2 more missions for the same price. Round trip, you can make 5600.....if your fast enough, you can get the missions, craft while your running to the shuttle, catch the shuttle, make the drop off, get more missions and make it to the shuttle again before it takes off......moenia is really really small and the npc's are not far from the missions terminal...only takes 20 seconds or so to get to them and they are usually on the way back to the shuttle. You can keep running by them and talk to them without even stopping....just run right past them and when you get in range, press the ~ key and number 1 (or double click) and you'll get the parts from them without even stopping to conversate.....what they say is all the same anyway, no need to listen to it all again.

Now back when i did this with all my starting characters, the shuttle wait was s10 minutes and I had no vehicle or mount....now days, you have vehichels, mounts and only a 5 minute shuttle wait.....I use to make 30k or more an hours doing this.....but now you should be able to make at least 60k or more.....heck 10 round trips is nearly 56k....with 5 minute shuttle waits, that's only 50 or so minutes. Easy money...and you only need a generic crafting tool, nothing else.

Oh and by the way, you don't even have to be an artisan to do this...just need a generic crafting tool....but if you are an artisan, you get crafting xp too.....should be able to train your first couple of boxes just doing this....and if you miss the shuttle, just do some sample and survey missions right there at the terminal....the resources might be crap, but your just gonna grind with it anyway.

Disagreeemnet with prior statement!!!!!!

ARTISANS! Do NOT run from mission to mission in other cities. you will get killed by low level creatures in the midst. get 2 missions to the same city, and bit e the bullet and talke the shuttle. At least untill you have a few combat skills. I know, I got killed by a rill on Tatt.

All good Ideas. Here is another one, also involving artisan skills

1)Stand by a shuttleport, and Survey for anything (perhaps all the items, in the tool) now I believe you are looking for something with a +60% concentration. (how to read: the center point should be over 60%) Remeber what type of resource, it was. Steel and Iron are ferrous metals, copper and aluminium are non ferrous.

2) Hop onto shuttle to a nearby town and repeat step one.

3) Find a nearby Artisan terminal, and choose to do a survey mission.

4) Now this is the most difficult, look at the highest paying missions only. And look for the type of resource you located at the first shuttleport. Finding the right resource can take up to 1 minute

5) Once you find 2 of them, Shuttle back to the first port survey for that high concentration resource and viola you have completed the missions.

6) Find an artisan terminal, look at the highest paying missions again this time for the second resource.

7) Shuttle to second town and survey for second resource.

8) Repeat steps 4-7 as needed

Mission payouts reflected your skill with equiped weapon. I had level 4 in marksman and was getting 4k each mission, which would total 8k per shuttle hop. Talk about easy money. I went from barely being able to afford maintence on a small harvestor, to buyinga Heavy Harvestor for 100k in a week of casual play, with 10 minute waits for the shuttle
