This would be an ok idea, but the SWG Event Manager said VERY specifically, that accolade badges have absolutely nothing to do with the FS Slot in any way.

Yes, but you did not read far enough. The very last paragraph states that the "Accolade badges the Event Team hands out have no bearing on opening a Force Sensitive character slot. Not even a little bit. You can check that off your list of criteria now."

So one less thing to worry about in how to open the Force Sensitive character slot.

Um.. a badge is a way of showing off... its like hey look, I accomplished something.. I was getting comments about my measley badge of Intellect in the Theed cantina when I was making traps.. by like 10 people...

What ever happened to them? Are the Accolade Badges gone for good? No one has got one in months.

Those are the wrong badges that you are thinking of. Accolade Badges were rewarded to players for excellent gameplay by SOE.

The AccoladeBadges are:

Good Samaritan - has been recognized as an exceptional guide to those seeking knowledge.
Fascinating Background - has been recognized as having an exceptional biography.
Brave Soldier - has been recognized as an exceptional soldier in the war.
Interesting Personage - has been recognized as having a memorable personality.
Professional Demeanor - has been recognized as being a tribute to their profession.

They haven't been seen in months. I am just wondering what happened to the badges.

We still give them out from time to time, but yes they are rare currently. I'll see if we can step this up a bit with help from the CSRs.

Starsider is a bit - jaded about how those badges are given out. The "memorable persona" badge was given to some idiot who AFK danced inside the Coronet starport by the ticket droid. This wasn't any AFK dancer, but a guy with a rather, obese, avatar. This guy also spammed the hell out of Coronet (yeah I know, who doesn't do that anymore?) and for whatever reason, some idiot CSR gave this bozo a memorable persona badge while hundreds, if not thousands of other bios went unexamined.

Q, I implore you to seek some kind of change to this system. Everyone with a good bio (and not the "Rebels/Imperials killed my parents and so I'm seeking revenge") should have a fighting chance at getting this badge and not have to luck out by being near a CSR at the right time.
