I have searched the boards this morning and have not found answers to my questions so here they are:

Can you place a powerup on a sliced weapon and will it properly affect the weapon?

and....

Can you repair a sliced weapon?

No you cannot repair a sliced weapon, as with the powerup I think you can

Yes you can use a power-up on a sliced weapon, and yes it works just like it's suppose to.

I have never had an issue repairing a sliced weapon. I have only had to repair 2 so maybe things have changed.

I have previously succesfully repaired a sliced weapon to almost perfect condition. If you can no longer do it then it's a new "feature" from one of the recent patches.

Well, this has happened to at least some of us.... Unknowingly slicing a weapon that has a powerup, then returning the item to its owner after a good slice, but the stats show less because the weapon had a powerup on it.

Out of all the intelligent ideas and proposals to better our profession, I have yet to see anything which touches upon this portion of slicing.

Do you feel that a powerup should remain on a weapon after you've sliced it? If not for the skill, then maybe just to avoid confusion so that a customer doesn't feel or question whther or not he's getting ripped off.

Also, has anyone tried slicing a personal shield generator? Can it be done?

the reason they are removed at the start is otherwise you would be adding up to 35% dmg to the powered up damage with a dmg slice.

i personally look at the gun and if it has a p-up on it, i let the customer know it will come off, then i remove it myself and tell him his unpowered stats.

and i have sliced PSG's if you get HAM, nothing happens. but an effect slice does change the stats, but then so does reloggin from what i hear

I also check first before i slice a weapon , and if it has one on it I give it back and let them take it out.Takes more time , but it stops alot of confussion.

Do you have to remove a powerup to slice an item? Does it "block" the slice as such?

No, it does not block the slice, however I believe that the powerup goes bye bye.
