Jedi Holocrons are cubes that hold the lost knowledge of the old jedi order, in its own simplicity its genius really, collect enough of these babies and you will end up with a FS slot, clever really.

Where and how often these things drop as loot of quest rewards is random "thats the random part" now according the the SWG team, some people are very close to getting a FS slot, which can only mean they have collected some of these cubes, but not quite enough yet.

Of course now the everyone is rushing about doing all quests and such, but again is random, so someone who has a cube from one mission, that same mission may not work for someone else.

I like it really, but I still want that Jedi slot.

Jedi holocrons are easily obtained from the dark initiate quest in the jedi temple ruins. Get all you want, they don't do squat.

The Devs said that a Holocron would be usefull to a Jedi. They will not, however, help you get FS. The cube is obtained by failing a quest for the Dark Adept at the Jedi Temple Ruins on Dantooine. Do not pay money for these objects as they are practicly worthless and any attemt to sell them as the secret to FS is a scam.

From the recent interview on IGN.com

Quote:

Haden Blackman: We've yet to see any Jedi in the game, though there are some players that are close to unlocking that Force-sensitive slot. The path to becoming a Jedi is extremely difficult. But we've seen in the game -- as in the Star Wars expanded universe -- that adventurers have located ancient historical artifacts known as Jedi holocrons in certain corners the galaxy. These extremely rare devices are a repository of the knowledge and teachings of the ancient Jedi Order. They may eventually be useful in illuminating the arduous journey of both mind and body that is becoming a Jedi.

/Quote

To me that says these cubes are needed as a whole or part of becoming a Jedi, obviously the knowledge inside is what counts, and having only one cube doesn't do anything, but obtaining a certain amount puts together something that allows a player to gain enough knowledge to unlock the slot, maybe through training or maybe its a given location on a Master Jedi who can train you or unlock the slot.

Notice the part - They may eventually be useful in illuminating the arduous journey of both mind and body that is becoming a Jedi - Now this sounds like it gives a waypoint, what else illuminates on your screen other than a waypoint from the sky?

So again its training, or unlocking it in some way.

I am going to get as many of these cubes as i can get, I won't pay for them coz thats taking part of the fun away from the game.

Dear all,

I am trying to make a smart ass guess: holocron has nothing to do with the FS slot.

What make sense to me is: Holocron will be the substitution of JEDI trainer.

Does it make any sense to any of you?

want to be Jedi ? don't buy holocron . use your mind . think . feel. explore. there is no shortcut to unlock fs slot or become a Jedi.

Re-read some of your posts. Becoming a Jedi is not the same thing as opening a FS slot. If you open a FS slot, you still are no Jedi, you simply are sensitive to the force.

I currently have 5 of them. Very easily attained.

I believe, like others, that the Jedi Holocron is used once someone becomes a Jedi (for training). I also believe that before you can become a jedi, you need to have one of these in your posession.

Opening a FS Slot is a whole different story.

Path to Jedi and Path to FS are two seperate things. You go ahead and waste as much time as you feel necessary collecting that junk, and we'll all laugh at you as you run by.

FYI: A FS character does not have to be a Jedi. They are allowed to take any profession they wish, but are the only ones with the ABILITY to BECOME a Jedi. The interview on IGN.com hints that the holocrons are for the path to jedi.

The thing that's getting everyone curious is the fact that SoE stated (here on the homepage) that the IGN interview contains info on unlocking the FS slot, not training your FS char once you have it.

Obviously the blurb could be incorrect (possibly the person who wrote it was mistaken)...but if taken at face value it means the holocrons are actually involved with unlocking your FSCS in some way.

Do you honestly believe they would let something like that slip? A clue to obtaining the one thing they don't want everyone to have? People have been buying everything with the word "Jedi" on them sense day one thinking it would help. I've seen posts on these boards saying one guy earned over 1 million credits collecting and selling these holocrons (of various colors/types/shapes/sizes). That is a LOT of holocrons.

The act of collecting them, by all logic, cannot have anything to do with unlocking the FSCS. The text of the interview states "path to Jedi"... that's the face value. In every other interview, they refer to the FSCS as the FSCS, not by any other title. Why would this be any different?

On a side note, if these do happen to defy logic and help to unlock the FSCS.. I will happily take my foot out of my mouth.

Hi All,

On my server (Ahazi) there seems to be a hunt for these things (Jedi Holocrons).

What's the deal with these things? People say that that there was a post on this site that said it was needed te become a Jedi.

Anyone now some more about this?

Thnx.

the holocrons alone will not be the opening crunch to the FSCS I mena be reasonable thats just dumb.

personally I think that the right holocrons might add a few extra XP to this "invisble Force counter" then completeing a quest hell it might even add a few hundred thousand but it would only be certain ones and most likely quest ones.

I not holding my breath for the FSCS I'm anoyed enough as it is that it's so **edit** hard to open it (when is says on the box be a jedi, mainly cause thats what I brought the game for to transferr my chat RP based jedi into the graphical RP world of SWG).

So dont give up your SWG day job trying to buy up all the holos you can find it may not help you very much at all.

ya so my oppinion bag me hate me but thats what I think.
