Thread: Party Picture: Ok, Star Wars Buffs, what's it mean?

The text on the Party Poster reads: "This appears to be an advertisement for some kind of celebration, though it's hard to say how old it might be, and the text doesn't make any sense. Perhaps it's slang?"

Here is a pic

I translated text on it using the Auramesh alphabet.. but it translates to...

"Uhl Eharl Khoehng"

Does this mean something? The fact that the description goes into great detail telling you that it doesn't make sense and that it might be slang makes me suspect that it actually has some sort of meaning.. but I'm curious to what that might be. Or maybe it's the DEV team out of ideas and just typing random letters... but the other posters, like the TK ones have the text "Teras-Kasi" in Auremesh and the BE one has "Bio-Engineer."

Any ideas anyone?

This is going in this forum because there are other loot posts and I don't know a better place to put it :-D

It seems it's an advertisement for some sort of play....

The great Old Corellian tragedy "Uhl Eharl Khoehng" ("The Trickster King"), generally regarded as one of the greatest in all the galaxy is first written and performed.

That's according to a website dedicated to Star Wars Chronology.

Wow, cool. I tried googling this but it didn't work. Glad you found something.

So, basically... this is an advertisement for a Corellian Tragedy, "Uhl Eharl Khoehng" or "The Trickster King," first performed about 500 years before the Battle of Yavin. Pretty cool that they have that much depth to this type of loot... although they kill some of the depth by making it a frequent drop (even if it is a poster that is up to 500 years old... see the "age" comment). I guess all thugs must be Theater buffs :-D

Very cool stuff. Thanks for the response.

Hmm. Perhaps a party celebrating opening night?

You got me there... the star and all that might make more sense if I actually new anything about the play itself :-D but I'm not THAT much of a nerd. Yet.

It's in code so the Imps don't know the location of the Rebel Rave Party.

Actually, I googled "Uhl Eharl Khoehng" and found a review of a book called, "Tales From the New Republic"
Edited by Peter Schweighofer and Craig Carey. "Uhl Eharl Koehng" by Patricia A. Jackson is one of the short stories in the book.

Here is a review by Toryn Farr:

"First, I must say I rankle whenever yet another Jedi or Dark Jedi turns up after the purge. But this young Jedi woman, Fable Astin, is openly walking around with a lightsaber and working for the Rebellion. Nope. I'm sorry. There's no way I can believe she would be left alive considering her lack of skills. The title refers to a play she witnesses -- a tragedy with a high body count. A hunch tells her to follow the lead actor, whom she befriends. She discovers his father was an Imperial Inquisitor, a Jedi hunter, who has faked his own death. The father then becomes her mentor and trains her to face the Dark Jedi who nearly killed her before. The climax gets a bit confusing, as the last battle seems to parallel the tragic events of the play. Convoluted, and too much for my suspension of disbelief. D"

Poor Toryn. I bet that he'd "rankle" himself to death if he ever played SWG.
