Thread: XP nerf? Don't worry, be happy
This (I believe) was done on purpose to stop people from exploiting whatever bugs (many) that may exist to level up and change points around during the respec period.
Clearly at the moment it is impossible for anybody to level anything at any rate 1/1000th the speed they could before, and can not stand.
Wait until after the respec period and I bet things will be back to at least half of normal...
Until then, go write some macros to exploit the system

The double xp doesnt start until may 2nd and you have to kill things double your level to get decent xp..just go out and find them.
Double your level? No...you just need to kill things that are within four or five levels of your own, either way. If they con grey, don't bother...but if they're green, blue, white, or yellow, you'll pull good XP and have a decent shot at killing them.
I have been playing my character since launch. Suffered through all the bug fixes, patches, professions that didn't work, changes to the rules (e.g. redesigning the force system) and all the while chanting my mantra, "It can only get better, it can only get better." To demonstrate my faith in the game I pre-ordered the expansion. Now I feel like a fool. SOE has changed the game and told us to "Treat it like a new game." I assumed that meant that we will have to go through all the bug fixes, patches, professions that don't work and all the other issues that go with a new game release. I was willing to do that as long as the game was still fun to play. Unfortunately, the combat "upgrade" has destroyed the fun of the game. When a TK master can get killed by a huurton, there is something seriously wrong. I would like to see them go back to original system and work with the Devs to balance it, but frankly I don't see that happening. SOE has invested so much money in this combat "upgrade" that they will spend millions in more development money to make it work according to their vision of what it should be, not what their customers want. The main problem for me is that it is not fun anymore. I used to enjoy running around killing things. I do not enjoy getting killed by (relatively) low level creatures.
In closing I am voting with my feet and wallet and cancelling my subscription and cancelling my preorder of the wookie expansion. I am so disappionted and upset that I probably won't see Episode 3 because it will hurt too much to remember how SOE made me feel like a fool.
George Lucas, if you're listening, cut your losses and dump this atrocity before they damage you vision any further.
Why is everyone worried so much about exp?
This is a role playing game after all. Everyone would enjoy the gain much more if the stopped worring about power leveling and power grindinng I mean whats the point? Stop whining and try wondering around and actually trying to roleplay your character every now and the instead of worrying about your uberness.
If that fails quit we who enjoy the game don't need you.

So we should all roleplay retards in the SW Universe? I mean thats what we should be roleplaying if we want to stick to roles here, a jedi having problems killing a dewback, getting hit with a gun and just standing there for 10 seconds unable to do anything as you get shot at. Its the special olympics people!
Random mods of equal level should give equal amounds of exp as the mobs on mission terminals do. Mods 1/4 of my level should give 1/4 the exp they would normaly give!
As it is right now, this 1 exp stuff is not fun AT ALL.
It's not THAT bad, but still should get SOME xp for things that don't fit into the narrow window of acceptance.
