Thread: Is the Firespray still the uber-est of personal starcraft nowadays?

Post-CU and ROTW, I'm not sure if the Jedi Starfighter or the ARC-170 knocked the Firespray off its perch. I really have not dabbled too much with the space game yet, but plan on starting soon, so I just want to see what I should be saving upfor.

Thanks,

I recently bought a firespray. i LOVE it. it's got a 230k mass or something similar to that. it can hold 2 guns and 2 launchers. with a good engine and the right droid program it can be quite fast, but it is a HUGE target from behind.

Firesprays are kind of useless in PvP because of that.

I also have a Jedi Star Fighter, and although it only holds 1 launcher, the 2 gun slots make up for it. you'll need to work closely with a Shipwright to get just the right gear in it because of limited mass on it, but it's small, sleek, and FAST. This ship is great in PvP when piloted by an experienced pilot with great gear in it.

i hear rebels still say that X-Wings are their best PvP ship. and I have some friends that say the Crimson TIE is the best Imperial PvP craft.

From what I understand, because of the 180k mass of a Heavy X-Wing, you can fit a good RE level 10 engine in with high YPR, and some high effectiveness RE level 10 weapons. Great combination in pvp.

Well, I'm an alliance ace pilot myself, but whatI've found about the Royal Guard in pvp (and pve) is...It can't be hit. Not easily anyways. Sure it CAN be hit, but the shots don't count. The only way I've been able to destroy one is in PVE from right behind it, its hitbox is WAY too small...I had a five minute battle with one in deep space, before i finally gave up and died, just from the fact NONE of my shots were counting..oh well, just my observation, it may have been fixed since then(its been a while)

I never thought the Firespary was tops, but every pilot has different preferences and flight-styles.

I like the Privateer Krayt for dishing out damage in PvE. Over 210K mass, 3 pilot guns, 1 top turret gun, 1 launcher.

For PvP, I like faster, smaller ships.

Honestly for PVP as rebel i prefer the A-wing, granted its got around 65K mass, and only one gun and one launcher, but with the right compents and droid commands it is really phenominal

Oh also you do know you can get commands burned to chips by pilots that are not of the same type as you mean if you are reb, you cna use imp or freelance commands by getting a pilot of that type to brun the command on a program chip for you

I use with my a-wing the following(The first three of which i got on chips)

Cap overload 3

Wep overload 3

Cap to shield shunt

Sheild reinforcement rear heavy

Sheild reinforcement rear moderate

Shield adujestment rear moderate

Sheild Normalization

As for the firespray i never though it was the top ship in the game granted it has nice mass and the like and better handeling that the b-wing which is the closet reb fighter in terms of mass

Also the arc from what i have seen with mine can be really manuverable, but has the darwback that only one of the guns can be controled by the pilot

Howdy...Im a Master SW and i think you have your numbers on the mass incorrect. You may be thinking 213K mass....Ive maxed out the mass pretty far with top resources is why I think a perfect FSE is 214K.

Just didnt wants folks to think it can go that high.

On Tarquinas I've seen a couple just upwards of 220k, but yeah haven't seen 230k--course the poster didn't sound too sure of the figure so I wouldn't begrudge it.

It never was the uberest!! It completely sucked and still does!! Weapons are too wide apart to be useful and it's handling was only so-so.

Now the new Greivious fighter and Jedi Starfigher, they are uber! They both have the same mass and weapon loadout, but the JSF has a smaller hit profile (harder for people shooting at you to hit you). The ARC-170 is a so-so multi-player ships (1 pilot, 2 gunners), handles well but the gunners didn't like the turrets...

But stay away from the Firespray it's a stinker, you'd be better served by even the heavy variants of the base ships.

Multi-Player is what brings the SWG world alive (real people, other players, make SWG so wonderfully dynamic). I just don't treat SWG like it was a chat room, I don't play to socialize and I resent forced grouping!"

I have to agree with Davie. Whether the Firespray is truly uber or not, I'm after it more because I've been wanting to fly a Firespray ever since I saw ESB.

For a smaller profile fighter, I was indeed looking at either the A-Wing or the Belbullab. I just need a top-notch SW on Starsider who can put an uber one together for me.

I've had a Firespray for a long time, and I'm back to my Krayt Gunship, and this is why...

More guns.
Gunner seat.
Seperation between mid and lower guns on Firespray make it difficult to hit smaller targets. (on krayt 2 guns are grouped so closely it's like 1 gun packing twice the punch)
My Krayt handles my high end 110+ engine better than the Firespray does.

These are just the reasons I'm back to my Krayt. As far as style goes, can't beat the Firespray.
