Thread: Droidekas should be stronger than Super battledroids and battledroids.

Droidekas were supposed to be the trade federation and the CIS most leathal ground unit (not including vehicle droids). Why are battledroids and super battledroids stronger?
Mabey the stats of a droideka should have super battledroid stats, and battledroids should have the stats as the current droideka and the super battledroids should be as powerful as the current battledroids.

/Agreed. Look at the movies, shields, fast moving, double blaster droidekas should be much tougher than SBD/BD. Imagine that arena full of Droidekas instead
Friend of mine (SW Geek) said to me, why are those Battle droids so strong, shouldnt you be able to knock them over in a couple hits.

They made Jedi run for the hills, nuff said in my opinion.
Giving them the graphics of /forceshield when a laser hits them would be great, infact: add a HAM bar for shields, much like Force Power. Melee and Jedi shouldnt be able to join the fight until said shield is down.
Infact, do the shield option for anyone with a PSG! Just give them a graphic of a back mounted generator, and a nasty encumberance.
But anyway... great idea. Battle droids are weaklings, Gungans beat the heck out of them. SBD's are pretty nasty due to the rate of fire, and Droidekas are reasons to run away.

While I do agree that Droidekas should certainly be the strongest of the battle droids I wonder is this has ever crossed the devs minds. If the battledroids were as strong as they are in the game there would be no Galactic Empire. The seperatist would have won the clone wars. Even the crappy battledroids are better than Stormtroopers. All the battledorids should be outdated tech. In the game....yes. Harder than all Imperial trooper types.....no. I'm tired of Clone Wars era content trumping Galactic Civil War era content.

I think so too. SBD's were being one shotted. I never saw droidekas with shields go down so easily.

I would only support this idea on the condition that Battle Droids (and their Super counterparts) be weakened. A lot. Sure, droidekas were stronger, but they were still being blown up, unlike these godlike Battle Droids we have now.

Quite frankly, the developers just took the art models and slapped whatever stats they felt like onto the resulting creatures.
Battledroids should be less powerful than your average stormtrooper. Light armor, low resists, No LS resist.
Super battle droids should be somewhat more powerful than your average stormtrooper, but not much more. Again, light armor, moderate resists, no LS resist.
Droidekas should be about the level of your current battle droid, *but* that force shield should give them highresists, including Lightsaber, and medium armor.
Yes, that does mean revamping the Corvette, Death Watch Bunker, and Droid Engineer's Cave, along with a few other miscellanous things, but it should have been done this way in the first place.
Leave *all* heavy armor ratingsfor vehicle-type stuff like AT-STs, AT-ATs, and massive creatures like Krayt dragons. Nothing else in the game should have anything better than medium armor.

I'm pretty sure the way it panned out was WHERE and WHEN they were implimented. Droideka were put in at launch and populate the droid cave on Lok as well as spawn with Nym's guards. Sure Droideka should be the most powerfull but like the guys in the droid cave should be Battle Droids (toned down to current droideka levels of course). Though the remainder of the droideka on Lok should still stay at thier current level for balance purposes. SBD's weren't tested on Lok before the Clone Wars while the normal BD's and Droideka were. Though, with this, battle droids should be removed from all the high level areas they are now, like the Deathwatch Bunker, and replaced with Super Battle Droids at the same level as the previous Battle Droids. The SBD's should then be replaced with Droideka (having spiffy new paint jobs) that are now at the level of the old SBD's. The SBD's on like the corvette should stay the same for balance issues.
And there we have it! Just make some BD's at the Lok Droideka level wander around Lok a bit and it'll be great and make a whole lot more sense!
