Thank you, thank you... I'm here all week. Don't forget to tip your waitresses.

What are the odds of having 6 professions left and 3 of them being holo profs? At the end of the day though is grinding 3 lines really that big of a deal when compared to all the crap I 've ground through to this point? Probably not.
P.S. If I get 80-90% through the current system and they decide to change it again right before I get it done, I'm catching a plane to Austin and somebody's getting a 3 gHz suppository.
Tips:
1) This is an exercise in combinatorics. There are 32 marbles in a jar. 8 are black. 24 are white. What is the probability of drawing 26 marbles without replacement, and obtaining 5 black marbles? Empirically, because I can't be bothered with the derivation...
...we cheat, and use a Java applet for the Urn experiment.
Without holocrons: N=32 (professions). R=8 (your 8 holoprofs) n=26 (your 26 ground professions). The most likely outcomes are that you completed 6 or 7 of your 8. P(finding 8) is 0.149. P(finding 5) is 0.125. So the odds of being as unlucky as you were are roughly the same as the odds of unlocking; about 1/6 or 1/8.
But, we know four of the professions! Thus, after grinding 4 holocrons, it changes to: N=28 (remaining). R=4 (your 4 silents). n=22 (you ground 22 of the 28, for a total of 26) The most likely outcomes are that you have completed 3 or 4 professions. P(finding 1) is 0.021. So, you're one of the unlucky 2%. (My condolences)
Incidentally, P(4 = Unlock) doesn't get above 50% until you get to n=24. Which explains why half of you were still grinding after Profession 28.
2) Use thermal epoxy to ensure that the heatsink remains attached to the CPU.

easy for you to say when you dont have to grind your life away as long as i do just because they said it would be quest based and to stop grinding.

15 professions, 0 unlocks. After reading some posts about people who unlocked post-9 and never recieved any unlocks, along with threads like this, I'm starting to wonder if something isn't buggy with the holocredit system.
7 professions and 0 unlocks and I'm starting to think the same thing.
