Thread: why do people care about forum ranks?

I miss somthing? I only noticed my rank a month ago. SOE send you a cookie or somthing, or are people just geeks that get some sort of ego trip from it?

This charming little lithium forum wont let you edit your own post, unless you reached a certain rank, for example. Only reason id bother with post count tbh.

actually in 49 more posts your rank will go up to, beware you will be one of us..lol. I personally don't care about rank, its suppose to be somewhat of a prestegious honor. Showing that the person is knowledgable about the mechanics of the game and their chosen profession.

another thing that was previously stated, is that once you have 250 posts, and have been a member for 6 months (or maybe it's 8 months) you can then edit your posts. I have more than enough posts to qualify for this, but i've only been a member since March.

Actually to edit your posts it's 6 months and 100 posts if I remember right. I can edit mine and if my memory serves me correctly i've been able to since post #101.
