1) Can you pvp in non player towns?

2) I was told even if your a neut your pet can get killed by a pvper? Is this true?

3) Can one alliance help another alliance? Especially in town? Like Example, Rebel healing a Imp or neut? Same question goes for the neuts and imps, especially in town?

I have seen 2 players pvp in town but I think they were dueling each other, I have never actually met a Rebel or Imp in tatooine newbie towns..

I am a long time Everquest player transitioning over to SWG. In Everquest when you PVP the winner got to choose one item off of the losers corpse and then it was gone forever. What are the consequences of PVP in SWG?

Howdy,

Losing in PVP results in lost faction (you have to join either the Empire or Rebels before PVPing).

You can't loot items from the other player.

I think you can pvp as neutral by using the /duel command. I don't think there are any consequences if this is the case although when you're factionally aligned the pvp death message says that 'because you died in a faction battle your items have not decayed'... so it's possible that neutral duels might result in item decay.

I recently retired my Rebel standing, so I'll have to try it tonight... after banking the good stuff

First of all, im flying a krayt with a markV sheild generator, 2200 hitpoints front and back and markIV armor with 1800 hitpoints. just had my first space PVP experence with a guild mate flying an Xwing. We were both kinda shocked when My ship wasdisabled in 3 shots. Ive gone against teir4s and 5s all the time and they rarely get past my sheilds, somthing just dosent seem right with PVP for it to go that fast. is this how it is suposed to be? Does it all boil down to whoever gets the first shot off? also, We were both under the impression that there is no decay for PVP. after I repaired I found everything decayed, my brandnew armor was degraded from 1800 hitpoints to 1400, even chassis decayed. Is there suposed to be decay for PVP or is it only in deepspace where there isnt any?

Oh, and please no smart a$$ coments on good pilot skill, ect..ect... this was my first experence at PVP, and im asking for input on how it works.

PVP is very fast-paced. A handful of shots is enough to take you out no matter what you're flying. Whether that's how the devs want it to be is another question, but that is how it's working now.

As for decay, the only place you don't suffer it is in Deep Space. That goes for PVP or PVE.

Yeah it is pretty fast.Just look at the damage on your ships weapons, then look at how much shields/armor you have. You said you have a 2200 point shield right? Well lets say your opponent hasan avereage 3300 damage experimental blaster with .480 vs shields and armor (1584 damage). That means in a little less than two shots, your shields are gone.

PvP will never be popular with a large number ofplayers until the damage greatly reduced.

now give him two of those blasters and weapon overload 3 doubling the damage, you you end up with over 6000 points of hurt being put down. figure 4500 actual applied damage after the 25% reduction, and you can toast any player's shield/armor/engine in a single salvo.

me personaly i fly an awing with a gun that has 2500-3900 damage and .68 to shields and armor. i love my awing and my re'd lvl8 cannon (/drool BIG GUN!) but its totaly unballanced that i can one shot a 200+k mass assault craft. they should be able to one shot me, but it should take a light fighter 5-6 hits to take out a heavy. high level shields need a boost and the pvp damage should come down to where light fighters can just barely kill each other with 1-2 hits (depending on gear).

whats really sad is i have a shield in my awing with 1900 f/b compared to his m-22 having one with 2200, and his probobly has three times the mass of mine. if it has three times the mass, it should be three times harder to peirce.

No...The correct statement would be "PvP will never be appealing to me until the damage is greatly reduced".

2+ minute long dogfights aren't very appealing with the NPCs. The only thing that makes it fun is the fact that the NPCs tend to come in groups of 7+ and if they all land enough shots at the same time, it is still over near instantly for me.

1 vs 1 dogfights for minutes at a time? That'd be beyond boring.

Have you ever watched dogfight footage on the History channel? I have. Dogfights consisted of maybe 30 seconds to get an angle on the opponent and then 3-5 seconds of firing. It's supposed to be

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair or **edit**ing beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you've got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man...
