I'm not a smuggler but a more combat oriented profession. I have recently become interested in sliced weapons but I'm not sure I understand them fully. Can someone please tell me WHICH attributes of a weapon can be sliced and also to WHAT extent? Thanks.

I've been keeping pretty good notes since I hit slicer and most of my slices are against speed.. what is your skill, Cinergy? Perhaps as you get higher it leans this way more? (which I don't like.. I'd rather have 30% of 190+dmg than 30% of 1.5spd)

What negative effects have you noticed on weapons that you sliced or failed to slice? I've heard that failure or success causes a weapon to degrade faster. I've also heard that success results in a weapon never being able to be repaired. Any truth to these?

Do you realize how different the galaxy would have turned out if but a single stormtrooper had shot at R2-D2? Ever?

I haven't tried to repair a sliced weapon yet, but I've been using a sliced Scout Blaster solidly for 2 days and it's down to around 890 condition. Considering how much faster it's allowed me to kill things, I think it's a pretty even pay out.

I don't know the answer on the failed slicing degradation...haven't checked.

Slicing a weapon can either increase the min and max damage or reduce the attack speed. Currently damage increase and speed reductions are in the 15-30% range so the effect is substantial. When a weapon is sliced ONE of the attributes will be affected, not both, and the slicer can't affect which attribute is affected, it is random.

Currently I seem to be getting a lot more damage increases (which customers seem to prefer more)than speed reductions but that just could be me.

Im only slicing 2 so its not a case of higher skill giving more damage bonuses....hopefully the reverse is not true. If you do get more speed decreases as you move up in skill I might just have to outsource molecular clamps and stay at slice 2 forever =).

i have recently started weapon slicing, and have found it much like terminal and container slicing. i have built flow analyzer nodes, thinking they would help in my slicing. but it seems like they do nothing, unless i am using them wrong. when it says something like "high probability of current in the positive wire" and i cut that, sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesnt. am i doing something wrong, or is slicing just that random? also, do molecular clamps help at all?

thanks,

FANs increase your chance of a successful slice to about 75%, whereas before you had a 50/50 shot. Molecular clams, I believe, bring the probability up to 100%.

any tips for following the analyzer nod's analysis?

would experimenting with the node's stats while i craft it help?

Heres a tip.

If your a novice smuggler and want to get slicing done quickly, Find a slicer (like myself) and ask them to give you the schematic for molecular clamps. They ensure NO failure and are 100% correct. Even if they ask for 5-10k, buy it, it will be the best investment.

I can hook you up with some, Starsider, Kolde.

When you slice a weapon does it lower the attack speed and raise the damage output? I am wondering because I bought a Power5 Pistol and the damage on it is 30-127 and speed is 3.7. I bought it sliced but don't know which stat they sliced. I have seen other Power5's with much lower damage and higher speed. Is this just due to good crafting?

Thanks
