Thread: Pistol Speed
What is the formula to calculate how your pistol speed affects your rate of fire? Lets say I have a pistol speed of +100. What is the highest speed on a pistol that with my pistol speed of +100, I'll be able to shoot at a speed of 1.0?
Once you reach +100 pistol speed, does the speed of a pistol still matter? Will I fire a3.0 spdcombat pistol just as fast as a 1.4 spd scout blaster?
I had heard that it is 0.1 speed decrease on weapon per 10% from skill, so if this is true that 3.1 should fire at 2.1.
If instead math is right, that 3.1 should fire at 1.55, as a 100% speed increase halves the delay between shots.
It would be very easy to test this by picking something big and slow and firing with a slow cdef pistol, then firing with a fast cdef pistol and average your shots over a minute.
You are supposed to cap with any weapon at 1.0 speed, so pistoleer masters tend to not want speed spliced scout blasters.
It depends on what you're shooting usually. The scout blaster is usually preferred because it's fast, it does alot of dmg, and it has the least ham cost (which is the biggie).
Personally, I have a scout blaster, fwg5, and dx2 hotkeyed. Whenever I fight something, I do a quick /ex to find the vulnerabilities and then switch weapons accordingly. But when I'm just running around, I have my scout blaster equipped.
I just bought a new dx2 and it's.4 slower than my last one, but since my pistol speed skill mods are so high, I was just wondering if that .4 really mattered or not.
