OMG I have lost 6 bikes in the past few days. I'm not sure about other players, but this is very high for me. They've all been destroyed by NS; one was even disbaled underneath me as I flew by a NS who had just spawned. This is freaking ridiculous. I had originially thought that a crate of 5 swoops in my inventory would be enough, but I guess I was wrong. I had to run halfway to the village and then all the way back to the Science Outpost last night. Serves me right for only getting one bike, but I couldn't find any crated ones and I didn't want to lose any time on my buffs. How far away does one have to be for the bike to be safe? I don't even think they were facing the bikes.

NS use AOE attacks.... I think the range is 30m
I always stay at least that far away from my bike when hunting on Dath.... to be honest I normally just store it. Most of the time when I am trying to run to my bike being chased by an elder or something she destroys my bike before I can get on it anyway

Yeah I guess I'm just going to have to store my bike from now on. I have a stacked templaet now so I can finally go toe-to-toe with most of the NS and SMC. Before, I always had to run like hell for my bike to get away.

Last night I was knocked off my bike and killedas I headed to the SO from the village and I got the vehicle disabled message. I cloned at the SO and forgot to call the bike until Iported to Naboo to get a newone.I called the disabled one so that I could destroy it and was shocked.I had expected to hear BOOM once I called the disabled bike but it didn't happen, much to my amazement the bike was fine.

Yeah I have had same thing happen to me a couple of times

I think the trick to saving your bike is when you see a NS Stalker/Ranger/Rancor Tamer running around near you, draw them away from your bike and kill them. Do not try to beat them back to your bike and then drive away, you will lose the bike most of the time due to the AOE attacks. I've had NS stalkers/whatever standing right next to my bike at the end of missions on dath before and the times my swoop has survived it's because I either stored it right away (if i wasn't in combat) or pulled the NS away from the bike as far as was resonably possible before I engaged her.

exploit ...however by accident still and exploit happened to me a long time ago but never sat down to take the effort to figure how to recreate it. If you hunt NS or spend a fair amount of time on dath you will go through bikes A LOT of bikes. My personal record for one day is 14... I look at it as a cost of doing buisness with the lovely ladies who call Dathomir home

I hate NS and the way they can blow my bikes leaving me in the middle of nowhere

I wish I could get off with just chocolate and flowers
Mine yourself a few 100k of steel and alum and have a friend make you a schem for a SPEEDERBIKE (it's easier on resources and has better terrain nego for the sickly steep mountains) plus they sound cooler then throw down a factory and have at it... that way you are only out pennies on the dollar as compared to having to buy bikes at retail or slightly under retail.

This is a bug that reappears every so often.
Be careful using it.
SOE seems to think of it in the terms of an exploit so don't get caught doing this.

I didn't and don't use this on purpose, I always store my bike soon as I get off it but I didn't have a chance to since I was killed so fast. Then I forgot that it was still out when I went to buy a new one.

Iremember back in the day... if you called your damaged bike and left it out when usingshuttle/starport. It would be restored to 100% after storing and calling it again at the new location.
this was a great bug back then. spending 5k to fix my bike was expensive!
