This morning, the team made a decision to delay the Smuggler profession revamp to Publish 11.
As it stands, we have a heavy amount of resources dedicated to the Combat Balance, the Jedi Revamp, Space, and new content. That leaves us thin on resources for something as massive and as important as the Smuggler Revamp. Because the core of smuggling is mission based, it really is a big project. In order to incorporate elements of smuggling for PvE and PvP elements, it and enhance slicing, large amounts of code have to be done to make this happen.
I know many of you are eagerly awaiting this revamp and I'm sorry it is going to be delayed, but looking at all the different aspects of this situation, this is simply the best choice. By doing this, we will be able to make the Smuggler's experience more of what it should it be and work with you to find out what your ideas are and how we might incorporate them.
Myself and the developers involved in this portion of SWG development will be reading this thread and we will be talking internally about different courses of action, so we are looking forward to hearing your feedback and in helping to organize the smuggler community ideas on what you think smuggling should entail.
Again, I know what this means to you and how important it is, but to do the Smuggler revamp the way it needs to be done, this schedule delay has to happen. http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=smuggler&message.id=84573&highlight=smuggler#M84573

I can say that we can't really give any specifics about our plans, other than we plan to stop promising a smuggler revamp that we never seem to get around to delivering.
It's very unlikely we'd ever do a full profession revamp for smugglers anyway.

Hey Tralita...
just wondering, in light of the recent announcment, if you are still sticking to your "let's snuggle the devs" philosophy?

Feeling a little hurt, but yes, i like the idea of the new revamp, it should be cool to HUNT jedi in the lava fields, because thats where ill be killing everyone i can.
Somewhat similar to how incredibly cool it is to hunt them on Kashyyyk, eh?

Well if you would be playing the wookie expansion then you would see that it is almost impossible to hunt Jedi on Kash because the Jedi get on the Ryatt and the droids can't track to the instance of the Ryatt trail only the planet. So in order to find your mark you would have to go from instance to instance (of which there are ten) and trudge down each level of the Ryatt trail (if you haven't mastered it yet), most Jedi are inthe next to the next to the last level of the Ryatt trail. Keep in mind too that as you descend each level the mobs get increasingly difficult. Most BH's don't bother if their mark is on Kash. So if the new expansion is going to use instances (which they already said it will) then you can expect the same troubles as with Kash. That's whatRiotwas refering to.
No offense to those discussing it, but doesn't your conversation show you EXACTLY what is wrong with this profession?
The topic brought up was about Smuggler, and it turned into whether or not it was possible to hunt targets. The players of this profession have to turn to other professions for actual content.
IT'S A LOAD OF CRAP!
