Now let's say you get +3 melee defense in one of the FS Skill Trees. Later, you decide to become a Jedi, resulting in you surrendering all your points from all other trees to accomplish this. Do the skill modifications stay? Or are they temporary until you surrender those skills?

You must keep all 6 trees completed at all times, so you can say goodbye to those 24 points.
