Hi guys.. i have a question for you all..

Having just been sent a link that takes me to the new post-CURB character builder i see that various professions are being messed around with and we will have to have extra skill boxes for our existing professions (WHO CAME UP WITH THAT DUMB A$& IDEA BTW) i understand that this calc is still a bit raw so things may/probably change

http://www.typeblue.com/cbuilder/swg-cb.php?as=610&t=4

Have people got any ideas about what they are gonna do about finding them extra 24 points for their FS boxes... i was considering just grinding up all the XP needed and then getting trained in one hit.. but i have found conflicting posts about the cap on FS xp..

I am not gonna go on or flame the devs about these profession developments(although i am absolutely fuming about this), i just wanted some advice and wanted to find out peoples thoughts on post-CURB FS grinding

I am currently a TKM - Master Smuggler - 2/0/4/0 Medic - 2/0/0/0 Scout - 0/2/0/0 Enhanced Reflexes (Which will leave me with 1 free point after CURB if you believe this calc) It means that i will have to loose my vendor.. oh well

Cheers

correct me if im wrong but that is not correct. Seeing as the post devs made. TKM will need 1 handed and Unarmed. And i see a few more things wrong with that.

ALSO. Whee is shipwright on that ? :-/ false post ?

As i said if you "believe" the Profession Calculator, then that would be my case...

well from wat i have heard and from some insiders leaking a bit to me :-/ i cant really say everything.

i can say though. that mastering 3 melee professions WILL not be possible.

I believe master doc / 1 elite profession can still be done..

your template as far as i can tell will go like this

FOR TKM YOU WILL NEED 15 points bralwer / 14 for unarmed / 14 1 handed / 63 points tkm

^^^ 106 total

For smuggler you still only need unarmed so thats just 63 points smuggler

^^ 169 total

scout 15 points x 2 n 3 points

^^ 20 points

^^ 189 total

Medic you will need

15 points medic // 14 points / 5 point /

^^ 34 points total

223 TOTAL

2 boxs of Force Sensitvie = 2 points

225 total = 25 boxs left

= 4 box a branch u have 2 .. 4 x 6 = 24 -2 = 22 more points

your good

First of all, they are not going to "nerf" the FS grind. They are merely fixing a broken issue that for some time has allowed you to gather xp faster than what was intended.

the fs grind was designed around combat as it currently is. It was designed that it would take 3 weeks of grinding xp with a weapon to fill a tree, then move onto the next - hence why the phases are 3 weeks. Yes - grenades make it much faster, but downside is they are ludicrously expensive.

anyway - point is that after the CURB fs xping is going to be beyond the realms of ridiculous in the time itll take due to how they are rehashing the combat style. (for example - no more spam spin2 on lairs for melees - sit and kill each mob 1 by 1 and you prob wont be able to do it alone anyway)

I dont understand where everyone is getting all worked up....

Look, they are cutting Doc buffs back to 10% long term/20% short term, but look at the reward. New toons will start out 1000ish HAM and build up to a max of 3000ish HAM. A 3000 HAM with a 10% buff is 3300 ( not bad, comparable to what a full buff is) or 20% buff is 3600 (better than a current dr buff, for sure). The second reward is you dont lose the added HAM after time expires.

Grind up, get the xp, and the HAM increases as you become more experienced. This is the way it should be. How many games do you play that you always have the same health you started with.

Right now, grenades are dealing full combat xp. My bet is, that this is a broken thing, and you are currently able to exploit it to get the XP required to become a Jedi (knight). Once it is fixed, it will be the way it is supposed to be. Months and Months of grind to get the xp required to become a padawan, then a yr or 2 of grinding to become a Jedi. Now, given the skill you are trying to obtain, this is the way it should be, IMHO, and furthermore, the long grind is going to wear on some people that have so far been able to skirt it so that there will be some balance in Jedi again.

I hope that isn't the route they are taking. We really need more info to gather a better picture but if it's like that and they don't alter the conversion rates then I hope they don't mind paying the board moderators overtime

There is plenty of room for group/hard content and easy solo/grind content. They should leave the choice to the players which they would like to play. My answer would be both at different times.
