The upcoming CU will most likely nerf nade grinding (who cares?). Instead of nading I will have to get my unarmed and take the whole 3 weeks instead of a few nights. It is part of the rules....get over it! No big deal either way. You will have to invest more time than before in getting fs xp and kill more creatures, but really doesn't matter. Patience is a must. I will nade grind until it changes, but I have no beef with the CU, for 90% of the players on here it will be a balance, just a few it will hurt, but in the end the trade offs will be worth it. I don't see a nerf here at all, just something tha shoule have been done in the beginning.

Umm.. nade grinding or any grinding, still takes the 6 trees and 4 phases, so the timing is no different. Not sure where you are coming from, if you are speaking of purely a gaining force xp as your reference what is the problem with trying to maximize combat xp as quickly as possible?

It matters not how the xp is gained. If when/if they nerf combat xp, there will be another way to master the xp the fastest, whether the fastest means months or weeks it will be found and used to get the amount of XP the quickest. It's such as life. If you don't feel it's the best way to spend your time, feel free to choose your path but quit complaining how others choose to spend theirs. Other people's nade grinding does not affect your gameplay at all. Leave well enough alone. Just like buffbots and afk grinding. It does not hamper your gaming in general.

Secondly, I've not read anywhere that it'll be nerfed. The CURB will definitely change it of course but as far as I know it will still be FS XP based and as long as you have enough combat xp saved up it shouldn't hamper your jedi grind. The CURB will only change how you fight and what you fight, it's not a nerf, it's how it's supposed to be.

Uhm.... you have plenty of time. If you nade grind an average of just one buff session per night (and start soon), you willfinish your FS grind well before the CU hits. I started from scratch three days ago (only had novice combat prowess trained up), did the nade grind for a little over three buff sessions, and I already completed my first branch. The only "grinding"I'll be doing once CU hitswill involve either an alt character slot or a glowstick.

Way,

Read his post again. He is nade grinding. He's not complaining about other nade grinders.

Quiche For Everyone!

Good point, something else that proves to be more expedient than anything else will come up to the surface eventually post CURB. The nade thing may irritate people, but for pure quick and easy the Res/Doctor folk helping add to the atmosphere near Paemos clearly have it made compared to any nade grind, yet they seem to get less bad press. /shrug

As for the CURB being how it is supposed to be, that remains to be seen. One draw of SWG for me back before beta was that class progression (i.e. Leveling) had next to nothing to do with your health/toughness; it was the skills you had that determined how "tough" you were. One aspect of CURB has moved away from this, we'll see how the rest goes. Honestly, I would accept a great deal to see Ranged become prominent on the battlefields.

In the interim, appears there is at least one Gemmell fan on Kettemoor

And I'll point you here, where I said the same thing.

I think we pretty much said the same thing, my main point is..

It does not matter how the grinding is done even with a rebalance there will be another 'fastest' path and will be used by the majority of players. No amount of nerfing can do anything about this. It's a fact of life, the shortest route to the end is the one used by the majority of players. There will always be another way.

Edit: Xanthum:I apologize, I misread your post.. I was responding to the "Enough is Enough" and that the CU will 'nerf nade grinding' & ' part of the rules....get over it!' I misread the portion where you were explaining 'after' the CU that it will make you invest more time then prior to the CU. Then at the end, you didn't see the nerf. /shrug/ There's a contradiction here, but I misread it the first time as nade grinding was somehow 'against the rules' and you've had enough of it and there's a time difference if you do it this way.. My apologies sir, we are on the same page.
