now i understand that you need 24 boxes to get to jedi, but do they all have to be in the same tree, aka 6 complete tiers. or do yo just need 24 boxes.... atm i have 10 boxes left, 2 tiers complete(thank you freebees) i have heard people say both yes and no. thanks for any input.

From a recent guide I read (err soz I dunno the link) it was 6 full branches - that's what I'm going for anyway

Yes you need 6 full branches....doesn't matter if you finish a tree or not, but you just can't have 24 random boxes....if you read the stickies above they will help clarify the qualifications for jedi.

from what I read.....unlock 6 skills ( branches ) that you want and complete the 4 boxes in each . You can unlock more but only 6 full branches can get you to Jedi . ( unless I misunderstood what I was reading )

You have to have 6 Full Trees. There is no other way just 24 random boxes will not do it.

I believe you mean branches.....the trees include 4 branches and each branch has four boxes. For example if you go for enhanced reflextreeand unlock the melee defense branch you will need to fill those 4 boxes in that branch. You do not have to fill the whole tree of enhanced reflex...so you don't have to do the vehicle control it you don't want it. 6 complete branches. You can't just fill up 2 boxes in each branch and call it quits.....thus there is no way to only need a few fs xp to go to jedi.
