Hiya.

I'd like to know if anyone could enlightened me about Force Crystals (the ones you loot from NSisters). There are clear ones and colored ones, got that. But what stats make a good crystal good?? Could someone give me a stat range for bad, good and great crystals (ex.: 800-1000-1500??).

The help is much appreciated,

Color crystals only determine blade color. Clear ones are power crystals. The number you can see is the damage/decay rating, just like on a weapon. This has become less important due to the anti decay kits.

Power Crystals/Pearls have a "quality" rating that only Jedi can see when examined. They are poor, fair, quality, select, premium, and flawless. To use a crystal/pearl it must be "tuned" bythe Jedi who uses it, so after a tune it can't,in practical terms,be traded or sold. So if you want to know the quality, you need to have a Jedi examine it in the trade window.

Tuning is random and is weighted by quality, so the quality rating only effects your chances of a good tune.

Low Force Cost and High Min/MaxDamage are the tunes everyone wants. The cap is -9FC and 50/50 damage so that would be a perfect tune.

Also there's another rating which is either a Select Crystalor Select Pearl, i think thats better than Quality but not better than Premium.

wow, thanks. that was great info. so the number assigned to a crystal is its hit points counter (kinda?). like the number associated with a chestplate or a weapon. thanks.

now, i need to find a few quality pearls, and i'm all set. now, do i need to be a Paddy to be able to tell the quality of a crystal/pearl? or will I have to wait until Im a knight??

thanks for the info so far,

sell those flawless and buy premiums instead premiums tend to tune better for everyone

I'd agree with the one in ten idea.

I've tuned 30 of my 41 crystals and 3 of 13 pearls (unfortunately 3 poor, 4 fair, 9 quality crystals, 13 quality pearls and the rest "good" crystals-everyone seems to leave good off the list of possible "qualities").

I've had one tune to -5/44, then a group of 36,35,34, and 31 with force cost from -7 to 0. The rest have ended up with much worse stats, including 5 or so with negative modifiers for damage.

One in ten seems about right.

Now, my question would be, would the 44, 36, 35, and 34 be considered not too bad in general? I realize that the perfect tune is 50, but how many jedi will be running around with four perfect crystals/pearls?

What are the "average" sets that players are running around with?

In my experience, the force cost is the more important stat. High damage matters little if your force runs out, and you can blow through your force bar pretty fast when you are levelling up. I have a 47/-2 pearl which I've never used, because the higher force cost makes the saber basically unuseable for any extended fighting. The crystals/pearls I use all have fc of -7 or below, which makes for much less downtime.

well, kinda, one of the final quests for intiate is to tune a color crystal and craft a saber, however im told that cant be done with damage crystals, as you get bugged somehow
