let me get this straight its a 6 month wait before you can become an initiate? Because you have to wait 3 weeks per skill tree?
If so then bwhahahhahah.

Well, it depends on when you start and if you unlock a tree every phase or not. If your lucky and you start when a phase is about to end, then you will unlock 2 in a matter of a week, and then do the same thing at the end. So it's really about 3 months give or take a week or so. The grind is a different subject though.. lol
