Yeah, that's what happened to me when i went for a skill amd my CL didnt go up after CU=Downgrade, so i learned my lesson quick and went back to banking all my xp in the branches that i needed because fact is they don't much count at least CL wise til about Paddawan.

So bank ur FS xp then when ur ready for the Initiate and the Padawan trials then convert ur banked FS into skills u want.

Til then ur Normal Proff skill as they will only heighten ur CL now.

If you are going force powers then yes you are correct it does not work. For any ranged profession that may not want to unlock their Jedi, it does.

FS skills do not affect your CL. They have nothing to do with CL. They are bonus's you can attain as additions to your current skills. The ranged speed does work. You wont see a real difference till bout the 3rd or 4th box.

Even as a padawan, the FS skills will not enhance your CL level.

Thats what i mean bank the xp and use Normal skills first, then when ur rdy for ur Jedi can safely hopefully transfer urself into Padawan and still maybe at least a CL 70 or u'll most likely get fraggedunlees u have othe ppl tank for u in ur grps.

Useing normaol skills for now will ensure that u have a CL 80 and can do some good grinding with the right temp, but at least be sure to unlock ur skills that u need lol, that u want for Jedi and then bank away til' Padawan.
