im about done with the village. i know that after the village the skill points needed to fill out the padawan template are enourmouse. my questions are this A) i want to use a lightsabre but i am total ranged how much will this hurt me. B) clearly at some point my mbh mcm status will no longer be master how does this affect my lvl 80 status

A) it doesnt affect it at all really. i was MBH mrifles before i did jedi and it doesnt matter at all really if you hunt in a group cuz you wont get any aggro for a while. if you choose to grind alone it might make a difference cuz your melee def might not be as good as a melee prof
B) your lvl 80 status will be intact for a short while and you will probably drop down to about lvl 60, maybe high lvl 50s, at the lowest if you drop your non-jedi skills as need be as opposed to all at once. you get your lvl 80 back probably 2/3 to 3/4 thru your jedi template i think
