I converted about 500K of heavy weapons XP into about 90K of FS XP (I think it was under survival....Phase One Reflexes category). Is this a waist of time or is it decent?

Or should I go out in space and grind the necessary money to do grenades? Right now, my commando tree is only 2/0/4/0 so it may be some time before I can use Thermal Detonators

Ive been playing SWG for a very long time but i just decided its time to follow the Jedi path (and I did printed out and read the Jedi Revamp guide...nice btw)

If you can afford then grenades is the quickest if not I would recommend Swords (Scythe).

Remember you have 3 weeks between phase changes so don't treat it as a race. Do missions and make credits while your in the Village. You'll do so many that you'll earn 20-30mill by the time your done.

Whether it is a waste depends on you goals and your bank box

If you have the cash, then get to 40x0 commando and use grenades
to get combat exp....sounds like you could be there fast with c22's,
just follow the guide. Otherwise just keep exp'ing up the heavy weapons
and converting, you'll make it eventually.

I think you may be happier if you get tkm....raises your combat exp cap
and gives another form of combat exp to trade in (if you don't do it all
by grenades). Combat exp is mathematically 10x as fast, although probably
closer to 5-7X if you consider the fact that you can kill faster with other
weapons.

I think all weapon XP is 30 to 1 so 500k heavy weapon shoulda transferd to 16k. Personaly I used sword and TKA to grind combat/weapon XP. get buffed cap them both and head out to dath to convert. if I'm power grinding it taks about an hour to cap each of those for 120k xp total FS xp. thats 900k cap one each converting to 30k and 90k combat xp from each converting to 30k as well. if I went out with C12's I could cap combat xp twice per buff for 200k FS xp. as it is I can cap both run to village and almost cap one of them agian befor 3.5h buffs run out so about 180k fs xp useing the weapons instead of the nades. cheeper and I dont realy need to wear armor when grinding with the weapons cause I generaly wipe out what I'm killing befor they can do much dammage when buffed. non power grinding I could still cap both in 1 buff and make it to the village and back in time to rebuff. this was somewhat less stressful to do cause I could just drive up to the lair and turn on a macro spaming spin attack on the lair and read a book till the combat music stoped wasnt quite as effecent but it worked

To Upgrade something implies that you are adding too, enhancing, and fixing the thing that you are upgrading. The CU does not do this, it is not adding too, enhancing, or fixing the combat system that is in place, it is replacing the innovative SWG system with the generic one used by its competitors. Be honest and stop calling it the CU, Call it the CR (combat replacement) instead

I actually didn't notice much difference between C22s and Imperial detonators in terms of FS xp/hour. But I wouldn't waste much time on the heavy weapons xp. Just stick to c22 grenades and only use that to get commando 3000 if you have a hard time finding C22s. I got enough xp to fill a branch every 3-4 buff sessions with that.

forgot to mention that C22s require far fewer resources to make than Imp Dets and Thermal Dets, so they can be bought for much less. Once you find someone who makes Imp Dets, it shouldn't be hard to get them to make C22's instead.
