do i have to kill the sith or can i just head streight to to village?

By your question I am assuming that you were just visited by the old man and you're waiting for the siths to attack? If that's the case, then you will have to wait for a couple siths to come and attack you. After you have killed them, you will recieve a waypoint to the village. If you were to head straight to the village without killing the siths...then I don't believe you're allowed to enter the village boundaries, but I've never tried this so if anyone could confirm that.

yes, you must kill the two initial sith in order to get a wp to the sith encampment. loot their corpses and you will find a datapad with a wp to the village. i have read somewhere on these forums of someone just going to the village and bypassing the sith and encountering only a mound of dirt or something. but havent been able to find that post again. from all i have read, they usually attack much quicker than the old man takes to contact you. shouldnt be too long.
