Do you really have to stay on the same planet that you got glowy on to make the old man appear? And stay in the player cities away from bigger cities? Are there really ways to speed up his arrival? Or are they all just rumors...

Mostly just rumors but some people swear to their methods...myself...I didn't do anything different, I just went out, had fun, and killed some stuff. He came in around 14 hours.

assuming the old man will appear faster by doing something is like when people were trying to think of your holo professions, wich was total lies because each account had random prerequisites.

Staying in one place is the wrong thing to do. I was glowy when publish 10 went live, no idea where I logged in at, but went to C-net to grind Med XP, then went to Dantooine to kill Janta and loot Janta Blood. Old Man came up to me on the 3rd day Publish 10 was live, so prolly 10 hours of game time, and less than 5 minutes after shuttling. Sith attacked me next day on Tatooine by Sennex cave when I shuttled into a player city there, I was buffed TKM, and they were dead when I loaded back into the game from the travel.

Filled my 6th tree at 3:00 AM on Dath, went back to C-net and logged. Logged on the next day at 1:00 PM and shuttled to Mos Espa. The old man came back to me and gave me the wp to Melljust as I gotout of the city limits. I was lucky that I just happened to stop because there was a static spawn of NPCs there that I wanted to see if they dropped any loot.

The point being that you need to move around so that the server notices you, shuttle, and stay out of buildings. Don't take any missions that will tie you up in combat for a while. The first time the Old man came I was in combat with 5 Janta and he despawned by the time I got done killing them (about 2 minutes). He respawned in about 15 mintues, thankfully I didn't move becuase I was so pissed I was sending OMG tells to friends that I missed him and then he popped back up. They prolly programmed it in so that the Old Man won't come to people that are AFK all the time, you must be moving and he won't stick around if you are AFK.

Another note, the second time the old man visits he will give you a wp to mell on the planet you are on when he visits you. Try not to be on Dathomir, or you may have to contend with NS, rancors, kwi's, baz nitches, and all that good stuff by mell's camp. Same for any other planet you have trouble with Aggro spawns or poor Faction standing with NPCs. I had Dune Lizards, Tusken, and a Reb NPC base (I'm IMP) within 100m of mells camp. I'd try to move around on Corellia waiting for the second visit, much easier to round up a Jedi-killin' posse in C-net, docs are there to buff/rez quickly, and not too many big creatures on the planet.

When i got glowie on my main character, the old man came 3 days after i got glowie... And then the sith came the day after that.

Got my alt glowie about 2 hours ago so if it happens again in this pattern, then maybe thats how it works

Lol they are not rumors ok heres what u do....ok when u get glowy travel to a player city..like for instance when i got glowy i traveled to my town and when i came out of my guild hall bam he was right there infront of me i was so happy...of course i am on chilastra...just travel to a major starport then take the shuttle to a player city and he will prob come not promising...but it worked for me...and same as when he tells u to guard the crystal travel again to a different player city and the siths will attack u...oand dont loot the sith until they are both dead..after they are both dead loot them both it gives u a wp on a disk u clik the option or whatever to make a wp for the wp on the disk and then go to it and it will be a sith shadow camp same thing dont loot them until they are all dead..when they all dead loot them but not until they all dead ok..or it wont give u the wp for village...then loot and it gives u another disk make the wp for it...it will say something weird but it will be on dathomir travel to dathomir science outpost and head to the village...talk to peamos to transfer ur combat xp...medic xp doc xp any xp accept pilot apprenticeship and something else i forgot ok...and if u want easy missions first talk to daggerin he is to the left my a hut when u go in the gates to the village if u want hard ones talk to captain sariqullo he is next to peamos...hopes this helps

NO u don't have to be at same place, and no there is no proven way to make him come faster! However, there are some tips to keep in mind... Hang around player cities as much as possible, old man will not come to static cities. Walk everywhere, it would suck to be driving your swoop and blow right past him, by the time you realized it he would be gone! After 24 hours if he hasn't came u know u are getting close...avoid combat, try deliver missions or some sort of non-combat activity if at all possible! Hope that helps!
