i just completed 10 patrols for the captain (80 points in all), it took me over 2 hours to complete, and when i did, i did not get an unlock like i was expecting after such a long mission, instead all i get is the option to do more patrols. do i need to do a set ammount of extra patrols? or is it a bug? any help with this would be appreciated

You should have received credit for the quest after the 10 patrols. Doing the other 10 patrols is a bonus quest that gives the Aurilian banner as a reward. It could be a bug. If you haven't already, check your crystal to see what it says about the quest. Then I would try a CSR ticket.
