Ok after reading lots of the threads in here, talking to guild mates and trying it out myself I come to the following
conclusion: All you need to be come a Jedi is lots of money. The more money you got, the faster it will go.
Easiest way to do it still seems to be the combat xp way (But you would need lots of money to get all these
crafting xp too).
For combat xp you need money at the following places:
For the doc to buff you
For the spices you need
For the musician to buff you
For the grenades (one crate for one big lair)
For good composite armor.
To rent a pack mule, that is carrying even more grenades (read player in dire need of money).
So the more money you got, the more grenades and armor and buffs etc you can buy, the faster you can grind.
Additional speed can be gained by paying players for service like, always buffing you when you need it on
a contract basis, the mentioned pack mule, exclusive contracts with crafters that deliver to you current
location etc. which also cost even more money.
So in my opinion it sure is about the time you invest, but it's also a lot about money.
Imagine something like that:
You log in.
Every1 you have contracted has you on the friendslist and notices your login.
All you contractors move to f.e. Dathomir Science Outpost. They create a group, get missions wait for you to appear there. You get there, get invited, get missions too. Your doc and musician and dancer buff you. You and
your walking inventory go hunting, right after your crafter gave you the daily nades delivery.
Then you go grinding them combat xp. Yes ok it's an utopia
. But even less extreme ways of
going about it, are more or less about money.
So my questions to the DEVS would be: You really want the ppl who have the most money to become Jedi ?
Isn't there a way to award ppl for their behavior, like using something like faction or something.
I mean if you have 5000 points of townsppl faction, doesn't that say more about you then 1mil of credits ?
Yes I know. It wouldn't work. I just wanted to say it anyway.
Thx for reading all this
an in hope for a brighter future

In a sense you are correct this game does revolve around the credits.
But it is not that hard to become comeplety self sufficiant in a sense. It is alot easier to get an additional account to become self suffcient WITHOUT crafting.
You have easy ways to make cash between missions, selling resources or selling loot.
I think the best way to become independant is master 2 hand master doc First you can Loot elders and or anything in the game solo
second you can buff for cash.
With an extra account you can get master dancer 4000 music and merchant for a vendor Which in a sense is not a must just makes it easier to sell stuff. I did it i know others that did it. Mission running alone can be lucrative but it gets boring but so does everything in life if done in excess. I can give you a lot of ideas to make your self an independant toon I did it way back when just starting with 200 cradits in hand. my bank is over 70 mil with twice that in equity

The question is: Is it good this way. Is Star Wars about getting money. Should it be only about getting money.
Should your gaming experience just be about money. And above all, resulting from everything being about money,
should becoming a jedi be about money too ? I have absolutely no idea how to rate the behavior or the style
of playing some1 has, but I think becoming a jedi should be more about what you do, and not about how much
money you have.

Grenades are notarguably the quickest way. I got a Swordsman/fencer template, and i can max them both out in about 3 hours (one buff session), thats 120k fsxp, where as maxing out combat xp will get you 100k fsxp, in about the same time. And remember when you grind your making money doing missions, so that covers your overheads(armour, buffs etc...), and more. I've actually made about 7million, just grinding 2 fs trees. So no, u don't have to be rich!

you have to have some sort of "occupation" to make money, just like in rl. Besides, what's the alternative?
And nobody told you to buy 50 crates of C-12 grenades to make your grinding faster. imo grenades are lame, but thats not the point. You just don't have to use them to get along.
Grinding is not all about money, its all about BOREDOM

Absolutely.....just like RL
How is that any different from grinding anything else.
The same case could be made about grinding Master Shipwright as well...or any other profession, resources cost credits - a lot of them.
Someone would have to be pretty rich to toss credits around to create a Jedi grind crew like that...there aren't many that could do that.
I know it's costing me a pretty penny to grind out FS XP at the moment, even with the deal I swung with a weaponsmith to supply grenades for me in exchange for some resources worth over 5 million or so.
It could be done pretty easilly with a Master WS alt making grenades to level and selling some on the side. In fact you would probably come out with a very tidy profit. Or you could finance yourself by selling blast armor out of Dantooine perhaps, those grenades doa number on armor.
