Thread: Pearls vs. Crystals?

pearls are much better than crystals. they usually tune for a much higher speed overall and better damage but they are alot harder to come by now. i've never tuned a crystal for over 100 damage but a few pearls have been tuned nicely for me.

So what is the argument here? Krayt Pearls or Damage Crystals for light saber? Which one is better and why?

pearls can tune to higher maxes on speed and damage

Same quality vs same quality, pearls 'tend' to tune better than crystals, but both CAN be tuned perfectly (randomly of course).

The max cap tune you can get out of a crystal is 110 vs the cap on pearls at 120

Pearls:


These are functionally identical to Power crystals, however they are only lootable from Krayt Dragons (Tatooine).


They are meant to have slightly higher maximum stats than an equivalent-quality power crystal. (Crystal max damage = 110, Pearl max damage = 120)

before CU, Pearls of the same level of crystals had higher speeds, Pearls were capped at -0.6 and crystals were capped at -0.3. Crystals usually turned higher damage on average though.

On that note, what are price ranges for the Damage Crystals?

Pricewill depend on your server but as far as I have seen only "good" pearls/crystals are dropping. All the ones ive looted and tuned have tuned to crap.

This is the way it is suppose to be. BUT!!! at the moment tunes are bugged. Atleast from the DJM crystals from the prison.


I know few ppl who have gotten bugged crystal tunes from the prison for a tune of 140/140 dam. They are very rare but it is happening. I think all tuning is bugged.
