Took me about 3-4 hours. Could be more or less depending on how many are bugged.

Not totally sure about that. I've heard that you can get visibility, but you won't be on terminals before actually becoming Padawan.
Have also heard that you can grind your lightsaber XP after building your lightsaber (before you finish the padawan trials) and not have to worry about BH visibility the whole time. Then go back and finish the padawan trials and start with the novice LS skill.
Haven't tested it though.

As far as I know, lightsabers still require use of the Force, which is only possible for Jedi Padawans. So Jedi initiates would not be able to use their lightsabers as they have no Force pool yet.
it took me all of 8 hours, i had to restart 10 of them
but without the bugged missions, i guess only 4 hours.
but its normal to have at least one or two bugged missions.
