The answer to this question may help me decide whether I'm going armorsmith for my guild (cause they desperately need one) or whether I'm just going to go CL80 and work on the village.

WAY back in 2003 I got a holocron that said I needed to master Armorsmith. I never did it... and actually cancelled my account a month later.

Now I'm back in the game. My guild really needs an armorsmith. I still have my token respec.

Cue stupid question:
If I use my token respec to go to master armorsmith (thereby getting the appropriate badge) before I go to the village for the first time, will I get a free unlock?

Or is the time for earning those WAY gone?

Being able to trim 12 weeks off my planned Jedi template (why did they have to stack the good stuff in phase 3) might make it worth my time

Welcome back.... Hologrinding was ended about 12 or so patches ago. Welcome to the village... and good luck. If armorsmith was your last profession to unlock yer jedi in the old system then I believe you may have 5 or 6 free unlocks in the new system but don't quote me on that.

Hologrinding was turned off with the venue of the village. The free unlocks were only for those who did some hologrinding "BEFORE" the village.

I suspected they'd have that turned off by now, but like I said, it'd knock a full 12 weeks off my time waiting for phase 3 to come back around, so it was worth asking.

Guess it's time to drop SW (which I'm getting fairly bored with anyway, especially with two other very active masters in my guild) and go CL80...

characters made pre9 can still earn free unlocks when they go to the village for the first time. but, you don't get an unlock for just one prof, so unless you hit on another prof that the game had picked for you somewhere along your career, just doing the one holo prof won't do anything for you.
