Oh dear... this has to be a bug. Nobody will play. The amount of hunting required to get FS as it stands now is a staggering amount. If this goes through it will basically multiply itself by 8, in which case I think most people would just quit the game. I would... it'd be impossible to make any progress what-so-ever unless you solo'd everything.

It HAS to be a bug. NOBODY would like this.

The game has been dead for a long time now, and these changes are the least of the problems. At this point, I compare SOE to a humble baseball team that is trailing by 10 runs in the 9th inning. The manager knows that the game is lost, but he still wants his team to make a respectable showing. Thats what SOE needs to do, atleast retain some of their pride.

So they are basically changing the game to the way they wanted it to be originally, no jedi. They will lose many customers, and at this point they do not care because the game is destined for failure and always has been.

I don't think it is a bug.

They said the CURB would kill the game, they were wrong

This on the other hand will and think beyond FS for a moment think about all the novice medics, marksmen and brawlers who will be fracked. They do not have buffs like we did before the CURB. They do not have 80% comp armor.

They have nothing.

This XP changes more then the jedi populations. It changes the populations of Medics, doctors, and every other combat profession.

A lvl 75 who might be able to solo would not invite a novice medic to join him because the medic would take is XP away from the lvl 75 who is trying to make lvl 80. The noobswill suffers. Thoes that are full templates will no care about the noobs and will go about their business.

Ehhh, I'd have to disagree there. SWG was dying before the CU. After the CU and with the release of the Total Experience box, the population (on my server at least) has quadrupled. Not exaggerating... it was a ghost town on Tarq before the CU, and after the CU it's more crowded than it's ever been. I can't imagine what it must be like on Bria or the other big servers.

But regardless, this XP nerf is absolutely uncalled for. Sure, go ahead, reduce XP a little bit. But if they reduce it THIS MUCH they're just going to suck out any tidbit of fun that is left in the grind (yes, there IS some fun, because you know you're reaching a goal by getting XP...), and I really think a lot of people are just gonna give up and quit. Sure, the game will survive and nobody will miss them, but I just don't see the point. The game functions fine with the current XP rates, why not just leave it alone?

You will have to kill 2,940,000 bols to finish the village.

Good luck, your going to need it. The force is not with you.

Obviously that's an insane number that nobody in their right mind would ever accomplish.... they want professions to take LONGER to master and Jedi LONGER to get, not make it impossible. The XP rates will go up... even if they double it I think it'd be OK. I read on another thread that the XP granted is currently lower than they expected.... not quite sure how that one works considering all's they had to do was divide 6000 by 8, but whatever, this is SOE

The reason for all of these changes you are seeing regarding xp, is because the game has no content. SOE has been trying to replace content with "grinding" ever since the game was released. They originally had Jedi on the shelf at the time in case their plan didnt work and they needed to be bailed out. When SOE saw that people were quiting the game due to lack of end game content, SOE decided "Ok, lets make the path to become a Jedi common knowledge so that players will come back to the game." So they basically replaced one grind with another grind.

This brought some old customers back who wanted to play a Jedi in the beginning but couldnt because nobody knew how to open their FS slot. Now those customers have returned and grinded out their full template Jedi and realized that the only thing different about playing a finished Jedi compared to a Master Swordsman, is that you have to grind about 1000 times longer to play a Jedi. Obviously, that doesnt make your customers very happy after paying for 10+ months of subscriptions, grinding countless hours, suffering through constant bugs, nerfs, changes, etc just so that you can be reduced to a local magician who stands in front of theed doing magic tricks.

When the game was released two years ago, it had all kinds of bugs, client crashes, exploits, disconnects, graphical issues, broken professions, and no end game content. Well its been two years now, and its amazing how much hasnt changed about SWG.

SOE improvement is a lie, there is only nerfing.
Through nerfing, they gain whines.
Through whines, you gain gankings.
Gankings, leads to sploits.
Sploits leads to banning.
And banning sets us free.

That just doesn't seem quite right.......probably just a bug. But knowing SOE the're most likely serious about this. They were the ones who made such a big deal about group play and created the CU to encourage it, now they want to integrate something to discourage group play? hmmmm........yep that sounds just like SOE.
