Thread: 18 weeks from FS to Jedi . . . but should FS be time based too?
I used to have a jedi and I just got back into the game. I'm working on the village now, and its with a new character. Hes only 3 weeks old, and I got in before the phase changed so in 15 weeks I'm going to have a jedi. I think maybe there should be a time trial. Where you can't become glowie until you have all the badges plus your character is a X amount of months old. Just my opinion. I'm sure some wouldnt agree.
I think SOE WANTS n00bs to get to jedi faster. Why else would they have made those two super-easy Mos Eisley quests count as Content Badges? They also gave n00bs unlimited cash in the form of a BARC worth millions, and the ability to gain large amounts of xp immediatly by leeching into high level groups.
I also think that n00bs are getting the wrong impression. When i started playing about 9 months ago, it was weeks before i saw my first jedi, i even remember taking his screenshot. But now, they're everywhere, so the perception is that it's easy. People don't know that the jedi they see walking around have been playing for 2 years and spent the last 6 months developing their jedi. I think they'll learn quick enough though
why does everyone wan't to change the FS system? The fact is, is that there are thousands of players who play this game and you are never going to get even close to a majority of them agreeing on a good method to become a Jedi. There will always be complaints.
In the current system there are a lot of complaints that the grind is too long, and an equal number of complaints that it is too short. Neither school of thought is wrong. Some people have more free time than others, etc., etc. The current system may not be perfect (the bugs make it worse than it ought to be), but it works just fine.

I agree. I'm perfectly happy with the system itself, i just wish they'd fix the bugs.
