Friends,
Master Creature Handler and 2-3-0-1 Pikeman here. (CL61)
I was planning on respec to Master Pike tonight for the rest of the "getting glowy" and Village quests.
Advice?Creature Handler is nice, but it just takes too long to get pets out to be effective using it on quests.
It is going bye-bye.
Perhaps a combo of Pikeman & Rifleman?
Pikeman and Swordsman perhaps? (Great offense and defense)

pikeman and riflemen could work but the ultimate combo is MBH master commando due to the 900k combat xp cap, 1.2 mill heavy weaps cap and 900k carbines rifles and pistols cap...using the grenades from commando every once in awhile...you can easily make the village xp fly right on by

Thank you!
Here's the thing I should mention. I know it will sound weird to some of you. I am looking forward to the journey, not the speed.
I don't have to rush through the FS XP. (I don't wantit to take forever too, don't get me wrong, hehe) I just want to be able to handle the difficulty and have a nice pace.
I want to enjoy the experience.

That's a good attitude to have, and will make the grind... well,... less of a grind. Thing is, no matter what anyone says, it takes alot of hard work to get through the village. So pick a template that you'll enjoy, and IMO that template should put you close to CL80 so you can accomplish the rest of the tasks necessary to get jedi.
Personally, I think I had a very good template in MBH/MDoc/NovCM. First, the MBH allows you to cap in three weapons. Sure I could have picked up another elite combat prof and capped heavy weapons or pistols at 1.2, but honestly, by the time I capped all three the trip to the village was a welcome break. The MDoc makes you very self sufficient, with almost zero down time no matter how low you're Health gets. It also allows you to have constant Adrenaline and Action buffs, they're more powerfull than people realize. Wounds are no problem. And the ability to rez/buff other players makes you a very usefull member of any group. The NovCM was the biggest surprise as i just picked it up with leftover SP. At novice, you get the ability to throw a weak neurotoxin. The toxin itself is completely useless against a cl82 picket, but it engages the the mob in combat from 35m away and and is ALWAYS a clean pull, even from deep within a cluster of mobs i could pull any creature i wanted. And believe me, when first getting to a lair, the ability to pull is essential, not just to stay alive, but to keep everyone happy and organized. So, that's my two cents, if you want a highly skilled combatant who's self-sufficient, CL80, can wear the best armor, and an invaluable member of any group, go MBH/MDoc/NCM, it not only works, it's fun.

I was a Master Smuggler/Master BH before my last respec. That allowed me to bank 1.5mil pistols, 900k carb, 900k rifle. Dont know what the combat cap was since I never hit it.
I'm not a Master Smuggler/Master Rifleman, Novice Carbineer. We'll see what the caps are on that.

Pikeman/TKM/0-0-4-0 Medic is nice too. Pikeman gives you offense and defense mods, then TKM defense among best in game, powerboost, meditate....Medic to heal in emergencies and you're off to the races. If speed was your concern then I'd say go with the MBH/Commando combo. I did my grind withmaster brawler/TKM/Swords pre CU and it was a lot of fun. I was grinding like a madman tho trying to finish by the CU. Now that I've got my Jedi I'm taking my time and enjoyiing the final journey.

TKM/master swords/master fencer
or instead of master fencer(bleed and nyenth'oris sword)or master swords (power hammer dominates)youcould go master pikes (area attack)
NO more worrying about armor which makes the grind less stressful and less costly
YES you will get less xp than BH/commando but this template is a LOT funner IMO than just sitting there and blasting things for millions and millions of xp
