Why can't we convert starship crafting XP to force crafting XP?

It is a crafting profession isn't it, us shipwrights are kinda getting screwed into grinding minor stuff from artisan to get the incredible amount of XP needed to even just get the novice box.........

because of the amount of xp earned/object.

Shipwrights get a pretty large deal of xp per ship they make which makes up for the massive number of resources they use.

If they were to allow Starship Crafting Xp to convert into FS it'd probibly be at such a poor conversion it wouldn't even be worth it. Think about the Archetects conversion ratio.

I don't think they want to insult SWs by making them use billions of resources for as much xp gain as other do using far far less.

My point is not that the conversion ratio would be poor, but the fact that the biggest thing we can craft for XP for conversion is a personal mineral extractor. I don't care if the conversion is poor, I just want us to be able to convert what we normally use. I have achieved master and would like to use my gained xp from crafting components towards a good purpose. Yeah it would be alot like archtect but think about the fact that just the normal construction of market grade materials will produce xp that can be used towards force crafting XP, XP that is useless to a master.

Even a poor conversion rate would be better since it's at least something to do with all the XP you bank.

Since there is basically no factory support (which is a whole 'nother argument), you're going to end up with lots of SW exp just from doing normal business. I've been a master SW since about January, which means I've been cap'd on SW exp since about January.

I agree...thats one reason why i dropped sw...i noticed (through 4 toons i have in the game, same server but different profs and all glowing) that everything can convert the xp except for sw (and pilot)...i capped my sw xp a month after the sw started...but could never convert it, but i guess thats because the devs feel its necessary to discriminate against one of the "new" profs for converting for the fs grind...i have submitted tickets requesting that the devs change this, and i think if more sw do that, then they will finally do it...take into thought...supossedly, countly tickets got submitted for buffed melee toons to do solo hunts, and thta wasn't fair...so now i think that if there is enough tickets for the "discrimination" of the sw prof and the fs grind, then they might change it.

fordep...i agree with that, but in the same token, why dont they adjust the conversion rate...like combat profs are at 30:1, squad leader (if i rmbr right) is like 90:1 (becuase sl is a high xp gainer as well, when i was sl and i would go on a krayt hunt with 10-15 toons under me...i would pull down about 500k xp in about 30-45 mins), so why cant they just adjust the sw conversion to like 50:1 or something like taht? (the cap on sw is 300k, so mathwise that would be only 6000k fs xp, whats wrong with a setup like that?)

Yeah, it'll be a low conversion rate and I agree that it should be an option because you're making the xp anyway and that should be rewarded over grinding.

I just think they are afraid it'd piss people off if they're using 50k resources for like 500 FS xp.

yeah, but if your master and making stuff for the market regularily, you're gaining xp from just making the marketed items, XP that never gets used cuz you are already master.
