Thread: Melichae-Do I have to kill him or get a hit on him?

I am about to get my melichae quest and there seems to be differences of opinion in posts on what I have to do to complete the quest.
Do I have to kill him myself or just get a hit on him and survive till the end? I am rifleman and have no hopes of killing
something with his resists. If I have someone tank him and I take shots at him will I get the quest?

Just be alive when he is killed. I think I hit him once when I did tha quest. The rest of his HAM was taken down by the rifleman with conceal shot.

Any ways, You only have to hit him and survive till the end, and about u being rifleman and all.. Thats the easiest profesion to solo him with. (conceal shot)
I easily soloed him in 5 minutes as master rifleman.

Everytime i try conceal shot on anything,a bleed ticks and i die-like i did to a NS the other day lol

Actually, you do not even have to stay alive. I was helping a friend with this. We had done it successfully 2 times before with other friends. This 3rd time turned out to be a disaster it seemed. All of us died. However, the mission holder did not clone. The rest of us cloned and went back to finish Melichae who only had a little HAM left. And to our surprise this caused him to complete the mission.
Thus, if you die, just don't clone and let the others kill Melichae. It could be that you will even complete if you clone. But don't risk it.

I didnt even get a shot off at him, i was after the crystals, a jedi in my group killed mell in about 30 seconds, and i didnt even touch him, i got my message saying complete though. Funny story is when my friend was doing his quest he did it by himself and got aced, he cloned, then was getting a group together when he got the message it was completed, aparently some passing group of hunters just decided to kill it, and he got the credit LOL.

It would seem like Melichae just has to die. It doesn't matter how.

Wait so u guys r saying is that concel shotwill keep them from comin at ya or attacking ya?man if so i am sohappy,u see my chaecter stinks when it comes to combat

I am also just about to begin my exit quest. I plan on trying to solo Mellichae not because I hate groups but because I'm usually pretty hard headed.
So when someone says it can't be done I like to try it out for myself. So I picked up m/rifles along with my TKM skills. I plan on using conceal shot to thin out thespawnbut if I bleed em, going to keep a pet out to jump on and ride off. I know this sounds nuts but hear me out. My plan is to wait for the old man on a planet with bodies of water. Endor is good since there are no houses there. So if I bleed Mellichae I'll jump on my pony and hit my wp to the closet body of water. Jump in the water on my mount and make sure Mellichae is following me in. Then I'll just proceed to shoot at Mellichae while he is swimming after me. If I find a small body perhaps I'll lead him there and run around the shore while he swims. Don't know till I find out where the quest will spawn. But I'll doing some checking.

as soon as the mission holder clones, the whole melichae camp despawns, i went through this, don't clone.

Uh...looks like you need to try out the various specials you've got...riflemen can do a LOT of cool things that special-spammers don't know about.

You dont have to touch him or even be that close to him. Just be with a good group of people that know what there doing.
