Well heres my story

About two months ago...

Ten days before my subscription ran out but I didn't care. I was force sensetive, was in a guild with alot of good friends, had a guild hall packed with armor, rare loot, andsupplies, millions of credits at my disposle, and a big smile on my face. Nothing was going to stop me from becoming jedi. So I start to getready for my month break from SWG. Put in enough credits to pay a month and a bit of maintance for my guild hall, mastered commando, sent off few cya later emails to my pals, filled up my bank with, what I thought at the time, JTL resources, and headed over to the village to convert some stored experiance. Converted the experiance, and then headed out to the science outpost to log off for the last time for a long time. I was half way when I decide just to log there. Finally, a subscription where I didn'tstop playing because of a boring grind.

Finally, after all that waiting I got to continue on with becoming a jedi, andto try outJump to Lightspeed. But, the only problem was was that I had taken a two month break instead of one. Found out a few days after my subscription ran out that I was going to visit my grandparants half was across the country. No big deal, I was sure one of my guild mates had probablly popped in a few thousand credits into my guild hall for me. So I activate my account and log in. As I load, im a pretty slow loader, I start to hear the battle music. For a monmentI wasglad to hear some galaxies music again, but then shortly realize I must be under attack. Finally I load to find myself dead, lying at the feet of a nightsister. What a nice welcoming party :/ So I clone, then do what any other person would do after logging on for the first time in months, I check my e-mail. As im sorting it out I find an email that informs me that my guild has disbanded and another saying my guild hall was destroyed. First I was shocked by the fact that my guild would ever disband, then a short time later the destruction of my guild hall sinked in. My armor... My supplies... My 33 crystals! All gone in, what seemed, a flash! After sorting a few more e-mails I start to wonder what I had left. So I checked my inventory. I luckily had stashed 600k in the bank, the one thing I was smart enough to do, but other than that all I had was some worn out armor, a creat of a few brandies, a flamethrower, a vk, my AV-21 that my old guild leader gave to me,and a flight suit. I finished checking my inventory and started to finish off deleting all the junk mail. As I almost finished, I noticed an e-mail with the title "Veteran Reward". I take a quick glace at it and discovered that I now had a a luxury yacht. Sounded pretter good so I did a few things then checked my inventory. There it was, the deed to my new yacht! It looked like things we're going to change from worse to better. I was surprized that I was able to use it as a house, so then I would never need to rely on a house ever again for my storage needs, but what surprized me even more was how fast I loaded into space, and that I could instantly travel to any planet I wanted to with out having to wait 5 minutes. After I looked around my new ship I decided to go back to my home planet, Rori, where I had switched from Imperial to Rebellion, and where my town and old guild was located. As I arrived I found that no onewas there, as usual, but not even a few of my old guildies. I then popped over to the bank and checked to see if I still had all mysith resources, which I did. A new yacht, all my sith resources, and 600k, it looked like I would still beable to continue the grind, but of course after I made a few mill. Before I left I checked the world map, found that my home town was gone, not a really big surprize, and head over to the starship terminal. Just as I was about to leave a wookie asks me for enough credits to get to dant. Instead of giving him the credits I offered to take him there in my yacht. It seemed to be the first time he ever got a chance to go on one so he quickly replied with a big yes. After we reached dant and went our seperate ways, I started my search for some new armor. After a few minutes of searching, I came upon a vendor selling 80% kinetic composite for under 40k a peice. I thought I had hit the jack pot! Before I took my break composite armor was at least 40k a peice. I quickly buy two suits and head over to the MO. As I was on my way I realized that I only had my flight suit for clothing. So I asked the guy I gave a lift if he knew any tailors. He did, so he got one to meet me at the MO. Gave her my list and waited for the price. She, for some reason or another, just told me how long it would take. So, being the nice guy that I am, I tip her 100k then tell her I would tip another once I got my order. Few minutes later she comes with my order, so keeping my word, I tip her another 100k. She started to object, saying that that was too much, but I refused to take my money back. I get a few more clothes from her then head out to naboo to become a rebel pilot before I started my fs grind. Finished tier 1 in under a hour then headed back to dant to join a solo-group. I got buffed, slapped on a few peices ofarmor, joined a solo group, and headed out to do some quenker missions. When I got to my first one I had my flamethrower equiped, so I blasted a few of them and started to throw my first grenade. As I was doing so 5 of them swarmed me and before I could toss a third proton I was incapped then dbed. I couldn't believe it, I was master commando and TKA 4/4/3/4 but they kill me like I was nothing. So I start talking to the group about and we get into some big discussion about it and after a while they got me to check my combat log. It seemed that the quenkers were doing damage that wasn't even reduced by my newly bought armor. After that I called it a night and went to bed. Next morning I put on a full suit of armor and went to do quenker missions again. This time I slaughtered them with my protons and got 76k combat exp from just the first lair! But then after I finished off the lair I only got 1k instead of my intended 13k. So as usual I talked to the group about it. After asking a question all I got as a response was "solo groups got nerfed man". I was fincanchally ruinned. I only had combat proffessions. I wasn't an artisan, so how was I suppose to make money? It looked like the end of SWG for me... No more guild to ask for support from, no more millions of credits, no more anything! By the time I had realized that solo groups were nerfed I had only 200k left. It was the begining of the end for my character.

Now...

Now adays I struggle to make 200k a day, having to fly missions in space for almost the whole day to do it. All my old friends have either stopped playing SWG or they only come on oncein a while to PVP. And just a few days ago while at the village I found out that the sith resources were only for village quests, so I deleted them not realizing that I could have sold them. The only good thing so far that has happened to me since i've reactivated my account was JTL and that now I can cap my combat exp in 40 minutes, but I use up 20 sets of protons ever time. Even though capping my combat exp is great and all, now it's like Ihalfto become a jedi inorder to play the game... If I drop fs and become proffessions that will make mecredits or that I have never tried before than all my hard work will have been for nothing, but if I continue I'll eventually just give up on SWG, because now it seems more like a job than a game.

So thats my story...

And the morle of it is never store your most valuble items in your house, whats goes up, must come down, don't try to becomea jediunless you have the money(irl and in-game) and the time for it,and that a guild is everything... Friends, comrads, and people thathelp you when you need support the most...

Well thanks for reading my story and I hope none of you ever have something like this happen to you. Never give up on jedi and may the force be with ya!

(Sorry for the poor grammer and spelling mistakes, but it's about6:00AM here and im tired :S)

once you sdtart, your in it for life

just keep at it, i know its gotta be hard for you but it isnt gonna do itself.

As long as you have not become a padawan you can drop all the force skills you have gained.

I dropped 11 boxes when I decided jedi was not for me right now. I kept only 3 boxes in Melee Speed since it works for Melee and ranged speed right now.

You haven't heard about the great "Loot Revamp"?!?!?

The Devs have added tons of "great" new loot to the loot tables.

Know what it is? Paintings and furniture

But anyways... I have been playing around 6 mos now and I haven't ever relied on solo missions (I am very rich BTW). That was definately way too boring for me. Just scour your local Galaxy Trade forums and see what's selling for good amounts. Then go kill whatever drops it until you get whatever item your farming.

you can make plenty of money, just because they changed the group payouts doesnt mean you cant.
you now have to make the choice, do i need money or xp?

xp, join the big groups for tough critters.
money, find a friend or 2, and get some missions for more money per mission.
or get a good pet and make your own group, you dont get quite as big a boost to payouts but you still get all the money. or better yet, you and a friend get good pets and make a group of 4 for better payouts. just leave the pets back in town somewhere, just not on top of the mission terms so its harder for others to use.

i grouped with 1 tk (almost master) guildmate, and i was master smuggler/pistoleer xx33 and we made about 450-500k each in about 2-2.5 hours doing missions on yavin i believe it was. that comes out to about 200k/hr.
i also did this with a group of about 5 guildmates and we made roughly 300k/hr working rancor missions on dath.

maybe 1 hour is 'a day' for you. not everyone is able to play 2-16 hours a day.
some days i can only play long enough to check mail and maintainence, but usually i can play for at least a buff session.

its too bad you lost your guild, town and house with most of your items in it, its also too bad you spent all your money before you knew about the changes and how to make more, but you will not get sympathy from me because you cant make make 800k an hour anymore.

crafters do not make lots of money straight away.
yes, people charge insane cpu for some items, but you have to get to master to make all the items of the quality that go for these prices. part of the reason people charge so much is you used to be able to make 800k in an hour. except the new players that started with 250cr and couldnt buy anything.
all the rich sob's were able to pay so much, the crafters said, well, if they can pay it, ill charge it, thus hurting the new players.
sure it doesnt take too long for veterans to get money if we start a new character, we know the system, but new players dont, and it is quite daunting to see how much things sell for when you first start.
they have now changed the starting money for new toons, to 1k, which is better, but still not much.

crafting is not a get rich scheme.
if you try to grind it out, you have to buy all your resources, which, as you just said, you spent all your money. and if you do it 'as intended', by selling the items you make as you go along, it is a slow(er) road to riches.

Bug fixes. Heh! Smuggling. Heh! A Jedi craves not these things.

My SWG Observations

If they stopped the expansions for one year and gave quality revamps to the professions that need it most, many people would resubscribe.
With all the resubs, and the new players, there would then be plenty of money to hire enough people to do 2-4 quality revamps per year plus 1-2 larger expansions per year and/or 2-4 smaller expansions per year, and not give the BigWigs a pay cut. (Possibly even an increase)

A couple ofcomments (well.. first one is a question):

1. In your story, you talk about taking the wookie up into space and how excited he was because he evidently hadnt been there before. Don't you have to have JTL to go up in someone else's ship? (You have to have the code on your PC). So that would mean he had to have JTL, but never gone into space. Seems kinda strange. I noticed this because a friend of mine asked me onto his yacht the other night, and I had to decline because I never bought JTL.

2. Next, sorry to hear about your misfortune. If I were going to leave the game for an extended period, I would make sure I leave whatever I could with a REALLY good friend that Italk to outside of thegame too. Or at least dump as much as possible into my Bank Safe Deposit.

i believe you do have to have jtl to go up and walk around a multiplayer ship, but i know that even if you dont have jtl, others can give you a ride to somewhere else. i have personally hitched a ride to other planets while i didnt have jtl.

i dont have enough time logged to get a yacht, and have been to space in my own ship, but i havent seen the inside of a yacht or yt-1300. screenshots not included.

Both players have to have JTL to go up in space, however you just hit the travel button you can take non-JTL players with you.

The answer to that is no. A non JTL character does not have to have theJTL module in order to be a passenger abord someone's ship. The only requirement for a non JTL person needs to boardis that the pilot has to have a shipthat is able to accommodate for 2 or more passengers, and you have to be grouped with the non JTL person.

If that person wanted to become Pilot, or persue the Shipwright Profession then they would need the JTL module.

My tip for you is to go to Tat space or any other starting planet and find a spawn of tier 1 ships. If you spend an hour or so just annhiliating them you will have filled up your inventory with loot (perhaps even in 1/2 hr) and then you can sell all of it to the loot vendor. You will make alot of money.. That is how I fund my thermal's and fs grind now. I blew 2 million already since i started using nades but at leats now i have a reason to do jtl stuff on this char. I make about 100k or more everytime i land and sell, so if you got a buff ship, you can really rake it in.
