atm I'm Master Ranger and Master Rifleman, CL 80. I'm currently grinding the FS skills and want Padawan. I was thinking of going 0404 in LS and 4100 in Defense. Does anyone know how to determine CL? I don't want to drop my CL really and wasn't sure if the LS would be better than the Rifles. I know pre-CU they were.

I think the main problem with lightsabers is that elemental damage is bugged.

are you saying you don't EVER plan on dropping Master Ranger and Master Rifleman? because once you lose a double mastery you will drop your CL level, no matter what other skills you pick up. i have tried ALL KINDS of templates on the stupid frog server that is up right now, and the only way i can get a CL of 80 is a double elite mastery (that of course does not include the crafting elites. they don't increase CL)
there MAY be a way to keep a CL of 80 without a double elite mastery, but i've not found it yet. once you start droping elite skills for Jedi skills your CL is going to drop until you end up with a double mastery again (two Jedi Elite, or one Regular Elite and one Jedi Elite)
because of this fact, personally i am going to keep Master Comabat Medic until i master sabers, then i will start working on mastering defender. i SHOULD have a CL of 80 with Master Combat Medic and Master Lightsaber...i think

Not true. I am a level 80 padawan and I only have Master Lightsaber. I believe a Padawan hits level 80 just by using most of his skill points in jedi skills. I don't think a mastery is required.
