Thread: Has anyone beaten Mel..
i have helped quite a few groups do this quest now and of course you can use a melee character to beat the quest... you just have to have a group.
i am NOT here saying i am the be-all end-all of solo playing, but i have been a 99.5% solo player for the last two years, and i can tell you with the number of sith, and the fact that Mel is a level 85 and Daktar is a level 100...this mission is as CLOSE to un-soloable (yesi made that word up) as any i've seen, especially for a melee class.
IF you could finda way to pull the sith a few at a time and defeat them, AND somehow destroy all 4 crystals without being agroed by Mel and Daktar (again the two of them together are a combined level of 185 - and Mel uses a light saber quite well) you still have to finda way to defeat Mel without agroing Daktar at the same time. this is all assuming of course that you can heal yourself at a reasonable rate, and won't ever have to retreat more than 100m from the camp (once you do that all the sith respawn)
as a solo player, with the changes to the CU, i strongly suggest you get a group with at least 3 Master Riflemen, and two healers of some sort, Doc, CM or one of each.

I was melee only. Used a rifle (since CU, everybody can use it) for the crystals, ran away when somebody attacked me. Then i built a rebel h.q. right beside Mels camp. All the lvl 80 reb soldiers immediately should their red ? over their heads in amazement, realising there will be some star wars soon. One shot to Mel, then using the walls of the rebel h.q. as cover, i could enjoy a great fight :-)
This will take you about 20 minutes to solo him. Good luck :-)
the guy a few posts ago mentioned that if you run more than 100m the camp will despawn. I can't usually get something to stop aggroing in less than 100m, so what's the technique here for running?
