Havent been able to find any info on the XP conversion through all these mad posts, have they changed at all from last Test phase?

IfI am a Master Fencer andI convert all my One-Handed Xp, I dont lose any Fencer skills boxes...right?

I will still have all my Fencer skills, just no XP to fall back on if I surrender any Fencer skill boxes...right?

Or am I completely misunderstanding the system?

Thats right. You keep all your fencer boxes, only spare exp. is converted.

Do you have to unlock a branch in order to convert XP, or can you do it as soon as you get to the village?

Need to unlock a branch. I tried to convert immediately when I got to the village with my alt but it wouldn't let me. Only worked after I finally succeeded on the Melee Accuracy quest tonight.
